I was taking a break at work and noticed a penny shining in the sun in the parking lot I quickly went over and picked it up. I am not superstisous so made little difference if it was on heads or tails. Pennies make dimes and dimes make dollars.
Do you pick up pennies? I saw a man the other day at the MacDonalds drive thru and he was 4 feet from the pay window. He stopped and got out of his truck and proceeded to gather up the change that had been prievoulsly dropped from the window from customers hands. I just left the restroom and there laid a penny.......did I pick it up of course so in the last few minutes I gave myself a 2 cent raise on the hour. *smile* Check out alot of the PTC sites and you will find that the 2 pennies equate to 8 clicks.......Do you pick up Pennies?

i have always picked up pennies, not just in this economy. money is money and every penny adds up. if someone else does not want it i will take it and use as we need it. i throw it in a jar with the rest of our change and then cash it all in at the bank at the penny arcade and use it for food or gas or whatever. pennies from heaven!

For me it depends.. Mostly i just pass them up because it takes 100 pennies to make a dollar.. and what can i really get for a dollar anymore? Can't go to mcdonalds and get something off the dollar menu with out pay 5 cents more.. I usually don't pick them up if i do have my kids because their a handful enough. But if i'm by myself or just with my husband sometimes i just may bend over to pick it up (it burns calories..lol)

yes, i am... i mean, penny is still money and without penny, there won't be any dollar... my parents teach me to appreciate small things since i am still a child including small money... and my parents always tell me that it is the people who can appreciate small things that can end up to become a successful person... i think it is very true and i still do it until now... take care and have a nice day...

i can't have 1 peso (P1.00), without having a single cent. so imagine if i have 100 cents found lying on the street then i have 1 peso already. people take it for granted the value of cents, the thinking of i have many of that but the truth is they are just shy to pick it up.

Definitely and I don't worry about whether people stare at me for doing so. Although in the space of a year my penny picking up may only amount to a couple of quid, there is a well known story of a woman here in the UK who picked up over £100 in the space of a year just by picking up loose change during the course of her daily walks. Now that amount of money is something you can't ignore.

yes. No matter how small value the penny is I always will pick it up.
It reflects my attitude to money and value.
If i pick it and use it, it has the value in the world, instend of being wasted as rubbish.
However I don't have a lot opportunity to pick any penny up. Maybe because I usually don't have my glasses with me when I go out.
Maybe here people are more careful with their pence.

Oh I defintely pick up pennies. I usually don't give up picking them up unless I'm in a huge hurry or it's difficult to pick them up. Eventually, if you pick up enough pennies they really do start to add up. I gathered change while at school for several months and when I cashed that change in, with the change that I had myself I had well over $10. Not a lot, but $10 can buy several things if you think about it. You can buy several items to make several meals with just $10. I don't see why people turn their noses up at picking up change, it does add up.

Heck yeah, as a matter of fact the last time the Firemen were out collecting money for M.D. I told them that they could have my dollars but not my pennies, they laughed and said it was usually the other way around. Several years we had to evacuate because of a hurrican and we cashed in my pennies (over 200.00 dollars) to help us do it. So yes i would NEVER treat a penny as useless but i don't mind if other people do (LOL) after all that just means it can go into my pennie jar to make dollars later.

Hi Boraxo! I always pick up pennies and then I take all of the pennies in my purse, on the table, in my car and put them in a gallon. When it gets full I take it to one of those machines where you can get cash for it and I usually get around $40 just for picking up pennies. Easey Money! Happy MyLotting!
