I would say that if he/she appeals to you, and shares the same views as yours, could, maybe, qualify as a 'best response'. A few factors like, how creative they are with their views, how influenced you are by their response and how well they have framed their answer, can be taken into account, when marking the best response.

I consider the best response, if he\ she answer straight to my discussion, and i will learn to their responses, and have the best opinion that i needed to my discussions,he \ she stick to their answer, and he \she had a responsible in giving his \ her idea, and not to the people i ask the question and he\ she backs to you a question also.

i considered one as best response when I'm that satisfied with the comments. there are posts here that are just for earning points and don't contain helpful tips. i also rate it as best response if it has the most unique thought.nice topic you've got there pal.

nope. as much as possible rate them and leave few comments. i just wish i can give comments to all of the responses of my posts. it's one way of making them feel that i appreciate their attention to my posts.in fairness, you write well.

Hehe you're the first one who voted one of my comments as best response ^_^ I'm very proud of that... I have this problem, some of my discussions only got 1 or 2 responses but I don't think they deserve to have the best response.. should I leave their comments unmarked?

Hi there xarex!
I see you are busy again!
I wonder who was that friend who has been reading the FAQs here and whether you are aware of where it is written. I will copy that phrase here (for others to read to)
From the FAQs:
'Do not select a best response right away, wait at least a week before choosing a best response. This will give myLot users plenty of time to respond to your discussion topic and will give you a variety of responses to choose from.'
http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq8.aspx#17
I have difficulty on some of my discussions as there are so many responses that are worthy of being awarded the BR but on others where I have fewer responses I usually award it within 3 months. I choose the response which gives me the best 'feel' when reading it, depending on what was the topic of the discussion. It makes no difference whether it was lengthy or short.
When choosing I also make sure the user is still active as it seems a waste to award it to someone who is no longer here.

It would really be upon your discretion. One apparent criteria would be if the response gave the most helpful suggestion or advice regarding your question in your discussion. You can also award the best just because you like their response. Like I said, it would be up to you.
If you're really asking what my criteria is, its that the response should give the most accurate suggestion, give the greatest advice, think of what I might be thinking and adding a few extra, baffling me, convincing me enough to change my mind on the matter, and best of all it should still be conveyed in a nice manner. At least that's what I think whenever I award a best response.
You'll know which response to award best to, just be sure to read all of the responses and be fair in awarding.^_^

Good evening to you as well.
Glad to be of help somehow.
You're quite welcome. I always try to respond to my friends' discussions, as long as I have something to say in the matter that is.^_^
Nah, dont worry about it.
Ah, yeah I think there was supposed to be a link there. Maybe he wanted to credit the site where he copied that response or something. Rating negative is also up to you. You have the power to rate positively or negatively in any way you like. Just always remember to be fair.

Good Evening..
You've said it very clear my friend.. Now I got all your opinions regarding on how to choose the best response.. I think I know now what to do.. But I still need to wait a week before choosing.. By the way, thanks for responding to all of my discussions!.. I didn't respond to your comment about eating fruits and vegetables because one comment there I know is just a copy-paste.. haha I don't think it's his own idea.. Can you review the comment above you with that discussion.. Look at the last sentence.. It has missing part and I think it's a link.. ^_^ I marked it negative..

Well as long as his/her response catches my attention in an amazing way then i guess that person will get the best response award. I really don't set some requirements or any barometer. Sometimes one sentence will do it for it. Sometimes even a lone respondent will get it because out of hundred thousand member, he/she made the effort to respond to my discussion which i considered to be the worst!

Well if you think you have got a good answer to your question then you might be choosing that person the moment you are reading his/her response, I happen to have many answers but yet I am not fully satisfy then I wait till I get the good answer, it can be after 3 weeks also.
