Hello there fellow MyLotters, I am half filipino and half japanese but have lived all my life in Philippines. It's amazing how easily filipino's can learn and speak english quite easily. There are alot of filipino's out there that can speak english fluently even if they are unemployed. Filipino nurses are also taking over the nursing market with filipino imports going around the world. Filipino's are amazing aren't they?
I am quite proud to be a filipino. Now fellow filipino's post what you feel about this post and if you are proud or not to be a filipino and why. You may also post filipino success stories.

Filipinos around the world are very in-demand. I can say living outside the Philippines myself... most of the local business prefer filipinos as their employees. we are very industrious, resourceful, accommodating, easy to get along with and friendly. foreigners can easily understand most of all because we can relay to them in English.
I just feel sad because filipinos never thought of thinking big by having business outside the country. we usually think that when we go abroad, we will just be employees forever... if i have the opportunity, i would probably have business here... hehehe! :D

There is a lot of history that affects peoples decisions to move into business. Over the time ive spent in the Philippines ive met people and also offered people the chance to be a business partner. 99% of the people I ask all prefer just to be the employee not wanting the stress of being the owner yet they are no doubt doing most of the role as a worker. Maybe someone can post some of the most successful Filipino operations outside of the Philippines as no doubt some people have made it.. its just a pity its not as high as it should be.

I can honestly say that filipinos are not "risk takers"... as in... we all tend to be pessimistic and not as adaptable to change as we thought we could, considering we can relay to almost everyone in all walks of life. true, there are a lot to consider before doing it on your own (especially when it comes to business). it just saddens me to know that other nationalities can be big in other countries like chinese, koreans, japanese, etc. but never filipinos.

I AM A PROUD FILIPINO! All the things they have said are true. With humbleness, I am teaching English to other nation in Asia. Its not easy but having the passion to share what I know made it easier. Most employers hire Filipinos because they have passion in everything that they do. Work is work. Happy mylotting!

I guess it all boils down to the kind of the society we have. If you happen to notice, Japan seem to have a world on it's own. I mean the language, the culture, and the Japanese living itself is very unique. Unlike here in our country, everywhere you look has a touch of different culture (specifically, those of the western ideologies).

I agree with you about that. We are the best race here in Asia when it comes to speaking in english language. Be could follow the American and British accent. We are still the only English speaking nation in Asia. And we will remain to be like that. Be proud to be a Filipinos.

It is no surprising because English language is the medium of instruction in our educational system (from pre-school/primary school to college). Likewise, our culture is partly "americanized" (as we were a US colony for about 46 years) hence most Filipinos can speak at least a "basic" English. The effect of mass media (esp. television) also contributes to our literacy in the said language.
