Hello friends, I get download speed of around 300Kbps at peak time and I think at times this is slow enough, for ex., when I download any movie. How fast is your internet and how much satisfied are you with the current speed

Welcome to myLot, Ravusri! There are a variety of internet connections available. Some are dial up and others are Broadband. Others are wifi. Out of the three, the service I felt good is Broad band. My current Download speeds are: -100 kbps at the slowest. -500 kbps at the fastest. I really don't download movies now, so it's okay for me. Moreover, this is one of the highest rates you can get in India. If you want to increase your download speed try the following softwares: -Internet Logger -Dynamip -Tick(Has a pop3 checker too!!) -Multimodemia -Rasmonitor I hope this was of help. If you need further details, just contact me. Regards, AJ

Can you please specify your broadband tariff plan you are currently working with? My plan is called Home 500 and it is really affordable. But you had said that you are getting around 500 kbps as maximum speed. How much you pay monthly for this Internet plan?

I use the BSNL Home UL- 750 plan. We don't get 500 kbps often. Though once it had occured at 1:00 am in the morning- just after the midnight. There is a very low traffic at that time. You can get it with your Home 500 if you try at that time, i guess. I really don't know about your's because it is a pay per extra usage type. However in unlimited one like mine, BSNL uses a different channel to navigate the traffic on sharing basis. If more traffic, less speed, less traffic more speed, so that it can be affordable to them. This is what a BSNL worker told me.

At my work, I get about 4000 kb/s down and 700 kb/s up using a cable connection. I'm satisfied but it used to be a lot faster (and more expensive). You can test your speed here: http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/ which will show you the speeds using different servers across the US. Looking at the speed that Windows gives you while downloading is not too terribly accurate.

To be honest, our download speed really sucks to highest maximum level. The maximum speed it can have is around 80 kbps and the slowest is 2kbps. Sucks! Right? We have a broadband connection here. I don't why it's like this. Bayantel sucks when it comes to being an Internet Service Provider.. I prefer PLDT though.

No, I am not satisfied with my internet speed. Its too slow. At it's peak it is about 28 KBPS and 2/3 kbps at lowest. So I am not satisfied. It takes a long time to download anything.

We have cable. I have no complaints about our speed. It's pretty fast. Just wish between tv, internet, and phone that we weren't paying so much.

Yes, I am satisfied with my download speed. I used to get around a speed of 250 kbps and some times 270 kbps. That's pretty enough for me. I concentrate in browsing and not bother about download speeds. My Internet plan is really affordable and I am well satisfied.

Hello ravusri , i don't know how the exact speed for my internet connection because sometimes when you subscribe to your ISP, you wont get full speed because a lot of factor can affect that. And if you try also to measure your download speed through downloading something from the internet, it wont also show your full speed since it depends on the server you are trying to downloading from it. But i subscribe with 3mbps and i am very satisfied with it. I try to measure , maybe i got around 2mbps. i don't know where on earth is 1mbps go.
