Am I sick ??

Odorous time, a decaying feeling, an unnamed unwillingness drag my feet to inaction. This was not so before. A nebulous face emerges large and I am pulled back and mylot has a little of me these days. What is that after all that I am not so feathered and flying now as before? Am I sick of this site, many people are not active who used to thunderingly active and most of the time the discussions are repetitive and non appealing. Am I affected by these elements? Or is it the tasks that more 'discussing people' are wrapped in them? I do not wish to get inactive but the inertia is not coming to my way. Or is it a passing phase that would pass off soon? I am not sure. But I want to write here and be an active user. Just help. Rajib. 24.05.09

You're suffering from what we all suffer from occasionally... myLot burnout. I believe this has happened to all of us or, at least, the majority of us, since joining myLot. I had this same feeling happen just last week. I've been active, just not nearly AS active as usual. Maybe it's Spring Fever. I've found myself deleting more email notifications than I've been answering lately and this is not usual for me. For the most part, I do believe it's the weather. A large majority of the people here live in the northern hemisphere and we're now out of the frozen tundra and into glorious Spring and wonderful weather. I, for one, am much happier when I'm outside doing things than spending the day at the computer. Today, and for much of the following week, we are supposed to have occasional thunderstorms which means I'll have chunks of time when I'm here in myLot and chunks of time when I'm enjoying the outdoors... depending on what the weather is at the time. We just had a small storm blow through and, although everything is wet outside now, I still want to get there and see what I can get into. So, relax. What you're experiencing is quite normal here in myLot. Maybe take a short vacation from it or just post every now and then. Your interest will pique again, I have no doubt. Hang in there!

I feel the same as you about the money. It is nothing compared to what we share in here and the friends we make. I am home alone most of the time and love the camaraderie between the people here.

Hi there, I have too active here since Feb 4 this year and might be that is why now that 'mylot burnout' has caught me up. And probably the cause is the too much pouring into it. Since I joined this sight I have had three pay outs already but this month have not reached even $8 as yet and interestingly not getting push ups by the fact that I might miss this month's pay out. Money has never been my interest to remain active here as you too know it well that the amount we earn is nothing when compared to the inputs we have here. It was the people here and their discussion and interaction which is more than that $10 or $15. Really, I ned to go on my natural pace. Thanks for sharing.

Have you been too busy here and overdone it my friend? I have seen you are still doing so well and starting dicussions as always and never slowing down. I have a job to keep up with you and several others (and this last week and next I am working too). Take a break and do something else and you will come back refreshed. It is also summertime for many of our friends here so maybe they are less active for that reason too. Tasks have certainly taken up some users' time too. Don't overdo it and if it is not a fun thing then take a break and come back when you miss us

Hi Diana, Perhaps I have been too busy with mylot for the past few months and now as people are not starting discussion that would automatiically generate response. Of late I have seen myself not pouring on as I used to before. Might be as you have said I need a kinda break and 'Return of the Native'. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Alice, Nice words. I have relatively good number of friends but most of them are inactive now. and yes selecting the quality ones I should turn the notifier on. Thanks a lot again.

I am gradually going through mine (again) as many more have blank profiles. Many of the new users I added last month are not doing things both ways so it will be bye-bye there too. It's tedious but by keeping them down when notifiers arrive they are the worthwhile ones. Maybe I will then receive the ones that are not arriving now

Sounds like you might be alittle depressed. Are you eating right and staying hydreated. You might want to think about taking a vitamin. If you are not used to the heat and have been out in it awhile that can do this to you as well. Are you sleeping normal? Sometimes just getting out of your routine can throw you into a dither for afew days. Watch what you are eating and drinking and be sure to get some good rest and I bet you will be back to normal in afew days. Dr. Rachel out.

I would. Take a vacation from the site if it is getting you down. I would. It is not a place for perfection. It is what it is.

Hi celtoceagle, Well, shall I term it depression? I do not think I have gone depressed for any reason. It is possibly an impact of the changing season and the overall scenario at mylot. have you marked most active users those were are sort of missing and most of the discussion topics are too much repetitive. Thanks for sharing and I would soon bounce back.

You are not alone. I was one of them. The reason could be IPL. I was so very busy in watching IPL that I couldn't give time to it. Other people might also be busy with some reasons as summer is there and people don't like wo work more in summer time. Let's hope since IPL is gone, people would come back to their normal living ways!

Hi Sanu, In my case IPL is not the factor however. it could be some gap that I had in between that took away my interest and now again trying to concentrate. Thanks for the response.

I think it could be one of a few reasons. Most of us get this way from time to time, for whatever reason, and we need time out, but we come back and it's all systems go again. The main reasons seem to be that people burn themselves out, trying to make payout and need time to catch up with other stuff and to recouperate from their exhaustion; it's summer, and people take time out for trips, to the seaside, on holiday; some like to spend time outside, relaxing with a book or gardening; but I don't think it's the tasks. At first, that might have been the case, but now people are getting used to them and the system is changing, there haven't been so many about. Besides that, they don't take long to complete. This week, there has been some shocking news on the site, and everybody's been a bit stunned at the loss of a young member. Thus, they've had to take "quiet" time off the Lot. So, you see, there are lots of reasons, and I don't think the site will ever be manic with discussions. Brightest Blessings.

I think the mind is a great trickster at times. I notice that all new experiences seem to devolve to indifference or as they would say in Zen, "no-thing-ness". After the experience seems to "bottom out" in this way, I have found that my mood climbs back up out of the "so-whatness" and interest becomes revived. I answer discussions on here that I feel as a therapist I can be supportive of others. Yes, there are hoards of mundane discussions, but I can just pass over them. Over-all I enjoy myLot now. Like you, I had an absence of several weeks, but then started opening my notification e-mails again and getting into the habit of responding once again. This time around my interest has stayed active.

Hi derek, Yes friend, you are right. Our mindsets are not stable all the while and some changes in the humour changes the mood and physical mobility as well. And that is too right that it should nor wear the form a depression. Thanks a lot

Hi rajib! I can relate to how you feel. I am lacking enthusiasm lately. I put it down to the fact that I may be needing a small break. I think it is quite normal to need a holiday every now and again! I am like that with a lot of things and people! I adore my little daughter, she's my beautiful angel and yet when she takes the opportunity for a sleep over at a friend's I rejoice and relish the break! I don't love her any less; I just need space and a change every now and again. MyLot is the same, take a step back, go outside, enjoy and you will come back feeling better I'm sure!

I'm sorry you feel this way... I too got pretty tired of the site. I took a break for awhile, and am back again. I don't think I'll get into it as much as I once did, but sometimes a break helps you put things in prospective. You'll probably find you still like the site, but you just over did it for the first few months.

Hello krajibg!!! I think long after, I am coming to your discussion. Sometimes, I feel the same like you because sometimes it becomes difficult to find really interesting discussions. But sometimes, I am again so much eager to post and see the comments for my posts. It depends upon the mood also. Right now, you may not be in mood to use mylot. But I hope your previous mood will surely come up again. Its natural that sometimes we get bored with what are doing always. And again, its natural that again the interest again. I know you will be active again with much interest. Good luck!!!!

Well excess of everything is bad Rajib,i think you have overdone mylot or you might be preoccupied by something more important .There are times when i do not like to log on to mylot because it is the time when i am perplexed, confused and annoyed by some issues of my life. Try to find some alternate methods to express your thoughts like talking to your family members and friends and you will feel that face to face communication is far more effective. As far as mylot is concerned ,it is a great social forum where you can air your views and expressions but it can never take the place of your nears and dears listening to you patiently and giving their emotional and physical support.

Perhaps you need to find myLot friends who share your interests and concentrate on quality discussions with them. Some people have had more time at other periods to devote to myLot than they do now. At any rate it takes a lot of time and energy to keep up with many discussions.

Hullo Rajib! I would put it down to summer and you need not worry. That is one of the reasons why many of us are not too active here.As far as I am concerned my internet connection is also giving me equal trouble as the scorching heat. So, don't worry and you go ahead whenever you feel like.We will all catch up soon. You can catch up when you find it convenient.

Same feeling here rajib, for around 3 days now, I just logged in but I don't know why I can just make one or two and sometimes even zero response. I just go over the topics but I don't feel like commenting, I know however, this is just for a while. I love writing at mylot but there are times that I don't feel like moving. Mylot is already in our hearts so maybe we really need sometimes a little break and after sometime we'll be back more energetic and inspired.

Hi rajib...I have to answer your discussion..you make me feel guilty I am one who used to talk a lot and am not on as often. Point the finger at me! I feel the same way lately though. I think a lot has to do with the nicer weather here in parts of the world. We suffer long cold winters and when the sun finally is out and the temperatures warm up, we are outdoors much more. I will try to start more discussions. I did do a few and one has been controversial.. I like to jump into the fire with both feet! I can be very stubborn if I think I am right about something. You are also right about the tasks taking up peoples time. There were a few times when I accepted about 8 tasks at once. They were all paragraph writing ones so took quite a while. I would be looking at the clock thinking I needed to hurry to get on mylot. I would run out of time. I am slowing down on them too so I can spend more time here on mylot. Im sure everyone will be back. DOnt run away on us my friend!

Hi Sandy, No, not is the case like that. You not to be fingered at at all. This is a mixed components I feel. Many elements are working together in different directions which is why my interest and enthu has lowered down. Why should I blame my friend. If anyone to be blamed that is me only. I know the hardship of the Winter over there and surely this spring is a welcomed time for a little warming up.I will be ok. Thanks for sharing.
