What's the best conditioner for dry, curly hair?

My daughter has extremely dry, curly hair that tends to tangle and frizz just about every day. And, you can't really comb through the tangles cause that makes them worse. A friend of mine recommended Aussie Moist Conditioner. She said that it makes her hair feel really silky. Have not tried it yet. My daughter's hair gets big snarls after almost every hair wash. We've tried all the detanglers and they dry out the hair more. Not sure what to do. What's the best hair conditioner for extremely dry curly hair that tangles a lot? Would love some tips or suggestions. Thanks!

Recently within the last few weeks, I've really gotten into coconut oil. I have long, thick really wavy hair, and I found putting a small amount on mostly just the ends helps tame the frizzies, and leaves it shiny and soft. If you're in the US, you can get a cheap version of coconut oil at Walmart, for about 5.00-though it's not the best nor healthiest brand out there. Online or health food stores will have the better healthier brands. It's in the cooking oil section, next to the Crisco and stuff, in a canister. It's comes in a solid, but at about 76-78°F in turns to an oil, so a small amount in your hand will dissolve. A little goes a long way too. I recently purchased a better/healthier brand online, has a slight coconut scent/taste to it-which generally means it's less processed and better for you. But of course, healthier also equals more money lol. Another option, straight olive oil. Again, a small amount will go a long way. I've also used the olive oil with good results in my hair. Not to mention, both types of oil are great for you eating health wise, and work good on skin as well.

Thanks for the recommendation. My hair is almost hip-length and wavy/curly. It gets so frizzy. I will check out the coconut oil. I love the smell of coconuts, too. When you use either coconut oil or olive oil, do you rinse it out? Thanks for the tips.

Oh, that's a good question! I would love to know that. How long do you leave the oil in before rinsing?

Fantastic ideas! Thanks. I had not thought about the coconut oil. Makes a lot of sense. I'll look for it online.

I think that head and shoulders makes a shampoo for tangles, and there shampoo is cheap, so you can always pick up one for dry scalp as well. It's not a 2 in 1 deal, atleast I don't think they have 2 in 1, but it's worth a shot. Suave is good shampoo, the ones in the orange, purple, etc bottles that are square are the best I've found. Not sure about curly hair, I have straight hair.

Thanks for the Suave suggestion. I've used that in the past on my own hair. Might work for her. Will give it a try.

I hope it does. If it doesn't you could always try combining the two, or leaving the conditioner in for a minute and brushing her hair before rinsing it out!

I think I might try a conditioner with either coconut oil or aloe vera in it. Almond oil is good too, to replace the moisture lost. Curly hair can be a nightmare sometimes, but I'm sure there's something that will do it for her. Failing that, maybe take her to your local hairdresser or regular hairdresser, and ask for her opinion. Brightest Blessings.

Use Cream silk conditioner and 2/1 Vaseline conditioner and shampoo,it is applicable in any types of hair, no dry feeling after wash, very effective and gentle, use it everyday.

i have dry, curly hair. i noticed that in the past, as i shampoo my hair, it becomes so stiff that it is so hard to comb it. it was only in the recent past that i started using conditioner. i do not shampoo everyday now (i guess this made my hair drier). i only do it twice a week but i use conditioner every day. while the conditioner is on my head, i use a wide-toothed comb to separate the tangles while hair is still wet. after i get out of the shower, i dry it with towel and comb with the wide-toothed comb again. while hair is still damp, i apply hair polish all over my hair and enhance the curls by squeezing the hair. when it is dried, it really comes out good and does not look dry anymore.

the most important thing that you need is something that you can leave in her hair. Right now I'm using Tresemme shampoo, conditioner and a leave-in conditioner. The leave in conditioner is also by Tresemme and it's called "touchable curls". Before I started using Tresemme, I was using another brand, but I can't remember the name right now. If I remember I'll come back and let you know.

Hello beauty queen. I have no idea what is good for curly and dry hair. My nephew has curly hair and he does not like it and the longer his hair grows, the curly it becomes. He either has it straightened or has it all cut with a bear head for quite a few times, however good-looking we think he is with curly hair as it makes him different from the others.

I am going to have to try that Aussie Moist Conditioner on my daughters hair. She has really thick curly yet soft hair. It is normally up in pony tails or in braids anymore because it poofs up so much. It is getting too long to leave down like that. It is about 2 inches above her waist now.
