Desk jobs or outdoor jobs.

I have found that I am not particularly fond of the regular desk job where I answer and make phone calls, keep records etc...
I like being in a nice office from which I can escape regularly to either do presentations or attend some form of function/working meeting or the other. I like having face to face meetings with clients (sometimes...beats making everlasting phone calls).
I have a free spirit and just hate to feel too scheduled or caged. As much as I enjoy interfacing with people Id hate to have a job where I have to so constantly. So I like a balance where I have the seclusion of an office and the opportunity of getting out and among people.
What sort of job do you prefer?
I know not many of us are that fortunate but... Do you happen to be in a job which truly reflects your personality?

I would really love to just work for myself from the land, and sell vegetables etc. So I'd like to be a farmer. I love just working outside in the garden and find it's refreshing and while sometimes straining it's a great thing to do to get your exercise and be refreshed. I'd love to grow tomatoes, squash, have apple trees, and be able to sell these items for a good and fair, honest price to friends, family, and neighbors. Of course I realize that I'd have to probably stay on mylot to help provide as well.
Good luck to you!

Thanks and same to you Cowgirl.
I like farming too but just enough for the family and a few friends. I have a friend though who works as a supervisor at one of our leading department stores while he owns and operates well over 100 acres of farm and is still acquiring more lands to expand his farm.
He just just loves looking out for potential farming land.

A business man that appreciates farming! Wow! I'm a greenie, I love to find out new ways to be environmental and frugal. Right now I can't implement them but when my fiance and I have our own place, they will be implemented!

Well , I should say my job is both desk and outdoor. I have to work on my computer a lot, writing reports, evaluating business prospects, and so on, and I also have to travel a lot to places of my business associates in my own country and also abroad. So, that's a lot of outdoor work too. But, I like my job and I very much enjoy both, desk and outdoors.

I have had many different jobs in the past and most of the time I have been working inside, but my favourite job was a job where I spent part of the time in people's homes and part of the time on transport. I didn't have a car, so I always went by bike. I got lots of fresh air that way and I really enjoyed that. When it was showing or raining it wasn't a lot of fun to go by bike, but most of the time it was nice. I don't mind working inside all day and I have often done that, but if I had the choice I would pick a job that was partly inside and partly outside.

With my job I actually have the opportunity to be both inside and outside throughout the day. I'm a teacher and currently teaching Pre-Kindergarten. We go outside a couple of times a day for recess, which is especially nice in the warm weather! I like being able to do a little bit of both. I don't know if I'd want to work outside all of the time and being cooped up inside all day might drive me crazy! haha So I feel pretty lucky with my job.

Wow, calm down.
Every people bored, hate, and don't like there jobs. But why are we doing this kind of work?
Million of people outside doesn't have any jobs. It's truth, the only way to balance yourself is to open your mind up, relax, sometimes go and have your short vacations, after work exercise or even in the early morning.
Your job is nice. Yes, it's really nice. The way I've been worked is similarly to your work as well.
