My sister has always been golden in my fathers eyes because since she was in her teens she has been a successful newsreporter, (radio then T.V.) , Several years ago she accepted nomination to a state legislation and won. All in all successful. I am +1 and she is +7 of 8. Not that it matters,, just showing differences in our age thus experiences. I was the kind of blacksheep. Doing mainly humanitarian type work that didn't make much money. A Dem. where everyone else in the family is Rep. For gun control (handguns and auto matic weapons only) while others are active members of the NRA. (by the way- I believe hunting is ok if you eat what you kill.) Surprising my sister and I enjoy the differences and simularities in our relationship. I don't get to see much of her but when we do we have good talks. A few weeks ago, she sent my folks and I a picture of herself, the president, and the American Flag. It's a beautiful picture and one of the best I've ever seen of my sister. Now mind you, there are pictures of my sister and her family all over the common areas of my parents home. This picture has, however; been delegated to the laundry room. Sad isn't it. Mine is atop my T.V. Your thoughts.?

Um... this is a bit unfair to the rest of the MyLot gang because I KNOW what I think.... and it centers around your father, who is a closet bigot. Sorry... it's the way he is and even if the Prez. didn't have the rocky road he's on, if he was republican, and making us all rich and safe, you dad would still put him in the laundry room.

My grandparents were very much that way as well. Hmmmmm! See, I forget that the Prez is a man of color, to me he is just a man. Thanks for the reminder. I also forget that there are still some politically incorrect people around.

That's how I feel too... I stopped seeing color in people when I was young. Though if I'm honest, the people who live around me notice the LACK of color in me. I still feel that from time to time.

What!? Is this a sign of eminent Alzheimers for your parents, perhaps. That makes no sense. Unless of course they are unhappy because the current President is a Democrat and she is fraternizing with the enemy. Funny and sad.
