Here is a kitty from China who is just like any other kitty. With one (or two) exceptions. There are two bony protrusions on it's back. The more winsome call them wings. This kitty cannot fly though.
*
Scientists believe it may a twin not quite separated during gestation. Or it may be a malformation from the mother ingesting a chemical during her pregnancy or a malformed chromosome.
*
Whatever the origins of this kitty and her 'wings', she seems to be living well, if grounded.

wow. that is so incredible. And it looks like a pretty cat. I am practially speakless. Could this be an angel in disguise?

opps speakless should have been speechless. I can't even talk properly after looking at the picture.

Oh man, that's rough not being able to grab an online when you want whenever you want. That's a luxury I couldn't live without

Thanks for sharing this with us. I seem to remember this story coming out in the past (in the news or animal info places, but not sure). She is beautiful (or he?), and do hope is comfortable. But I hope she is treated well too, not having to eat off of the floor constantly like in the photo.

Hmmm, Don't let the 'dirty' coat fool you, those white or light coats are difficult to keep clean in China's dirty air. As for eating off the floor, that's probably treats he/she's eating.

Saviour-V teleports in...
Interesting specimen. Perhaps a little more research should yield variants that can actually fly. Maybe the phrase "when pigs fly" might come true sooner or later.
Saviour-V grins slightly...
But there's a shadow to all this. I mean, considering China's well-known for many a chemical scare, what if this was one of the results?
Then again, this could be a one-off case. I don't know how well I'd be able to take care of one of these, even though I've got a cat-lover for a Dad.
Saviour-V bows, before teleporting out...

Umm, there's been too many of these 'odd' critters around the planet, more likely Kitty has a skin condition or is a conjoined twin of some sort...

I'm surprised it wasn't eaten, lol. My brother had a korean friend, and he told my brother once, "If you see white dog, let me know. The ones with white fur are the tastiest." Yuck!

That is just...DISGUSTING! Sorry, cultural bias showing. There is no difference between white and other color critter though.

You wanna know why? because according to them, its an aphrodisiac..

The kitty lives in China, and I live in the United States. The wings will be left alone I'd imagine unless they cause the kitty problems. She just looked so different, and unique...

I thought the picture was fake but as I searched the internet, there are more cases like that in China. The winged kittens look cute and unique though they can't fly. Those kind of kittens look like Pokemons

Yes, they do look like cartoons. Pokemons are adorable.

That's no problem...MyLot can be a tricky site to navigate because it's very big. Because it's graphics intensive it can be very slow to load too.

Hello CraftyCorner. This topic of yours interested me because I just heard about it this morning when my colleague was having a chat with me. I find that it is hard to imagine a kitten with a pair of wings. I agree with you on those thoughts about the winged kitty. I am wondering how the kitten is getting on now. Hope it is living well still.

The 'wings' are not true wings at all. They are in fact a malformation of the skin or of the bone. I do not know what happened to the kitty, I too hope he or she is doing well.

This kitty was born or developed a skin or bone malformation from where I don't know, but is lucky to have a loving home. There appears to be no pain involved. The fanciful would say there is a pair of wings there.

It is one of the rare case in animals...
But it's a nice thing to know this kind of information...
That's very informative.

Wow.. I think its amazing.. Very unique... I personally think that the world would be alot better if things like this would happen more often and be left alone instead of people cutting off and trying to make everything look "normal" as they say. I hope they don't try and cut his wings off.

No, although If the wings cause the kitty problems I could understand. Some winged kitties find the wings very uncomfortable to painful.
