Where do these "reported" and "violation" tags come from?

I have a few discussions that suddenly have "reported" and "violation" tags. I clicked on the tags and saw that "violation" means you have used a word that mylot doesn't allow and "reported" means posting spam. What posts qualify as spam? And what words are considered a no-no on mylot? As far as I know, no message came up telling me that a word is not allowed in my post. I know a warning comes up because I accidentally used another word for "bottom" once and I was asked to review my discussion before it was posted. Doesn't the fact that I was able to post my discussion, mean that I didn't use any no-no word? This isn't such a big deal to me but I'm pretty confused about it. Any help will be appreciated.

I am confused as well cause when I tried to post a disscussion and used a word that mylot felt was not appropiate they would not even let me post the discussion. I had to change the word before that would happen. I wish that they had a list of no no words lol. I thought if it was a word that was not allowed you would not even be able to post the discussion or the response. I dont know so confused.

LOL ... It occured to me that if they tried to publish a list of the proscribed words, the mechanism would probably tell them that they can't!

If you take time off from posting to read here: http://www.mylot.com/o/mylot.aspx you will learn many things about myLot which you might not be aware of. You will see that users are asked to report any violations that they see. When you see those tags in any discussion they have been left by users as the discussion has been reported for a violation. MyLot staff will then read the reports and if they decide it is a violation they delete. If you are aware of the Guidelines then you will know what to post and what not to post and on which discussions not to respond on too.

Those tags were written by each members here on mylot. Those that respond to your discussions are the ones that leave the remark. Be sure that the topics you posted are not against Mylot rules. If you posted some referral link, or any topics that Mylot forbids on their rules are not to be included in your discussion. Some people post referral links in between the conversation, but i am sure that the Admin will delete such. Don't post topics like a milestone that you have in here or in other sites, they will also delete such topic.

'Those that respond to your discussions are the ones that leave the remark' There is NO need to respond to a discussion to leave a tag or to report it. Both can be done regardless of whether you respond or not.
