Today is National MS Day. Today people with MS are suppose to make other people more aware of the devestating effects of MS and answer any questions that people may have. So here we go: Multiple sclerosis is a disease affecting the brain and spinal cord (also known as the central nervous system), the causes of which are still unknown. The disease can be relatively mild or severely debilitating, and is the leading cause of disability among young adults ages 20 to 40. There are four main types of multiple sclerosis: relapsing-remitting, primary-progressive, secondary-progressive, and progressive-relapsing. To learn more about MS watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgySDmRRzxY (not a referal link) I welcome any questions that you may have about the disease.

My step-dad has MS and it has been a struggle for all of us. Especially him though. The last two summers he has had it really bad and has been hospitalized for it. Do you know anybody with MS? If so what treatments have they tried?

I have MS. I have tried Betaseron, Copaxone, Rebif and Tisabri. I think that the Rebif works the best for me, easier to take and does not make me as depressed and/or feel as bad as the other medications do.
