There is an old saying "If life gives you Lemons - make Lemonaide". Well I hate Lemonaide. I want to make Lemon cake.
I guess what I am trying to say is that when I am givin Lemons I can't just make Lemonaide. I have to figure out what I would like to do with the Lemons. Try to make the most out of everything. One Christman I didn't have money and didn't know how to get a Christmas Tree for my girls. I decided to make a big deal out of us taking an excursion to find a Charlie Brown Tree. We had watched "A charlie Brown Christmas" and thought it would be a really good family experience. We made home made orniments out of contruction paper, cookie dough, and tin foil.
Well I am here to say that my quality time with my girls was waisted. Most of the hated it. I did add Christmas lights but they wanted a great big tree like Daddy had.
But ya know, it still was very rewarding to me because I knew I was giving quality time to my girls and while they were actually doing it we listened to music, watched "It's a wonderful Life" made popcorn (for cranberry and popcorn steamers for the tree too). Hot Chocolate and Chili (uch).

some of us perfer charlie brown to fruit trees... Thank you very much.
I love finding simple ways to make a moment special with out having to spend tons of time or money on the details.
And by the way.... Christmas isn't about gifts or even Christ to me... it's about family (that's why I don't have to have it on just that one silly day) I spend a month doing stuff with the kids. The batch I'm raising now loves the simple things like riding and looking at lights, making pictures for gifts.

Only 25% of my world feels like I do. That same Christmas I tried to do the something for the 12 days of Christmas. 1 appreciated it.
