Do you prefer diving into a pool or just jumping in?

Would you prefer diving into the pool at the deep end, jumping in, or just walking in at the shallow end? Which do you prefer and why?

Very cool and very smart not to dive into a shallow pool

Yes, please be careful when jumping in the water. I do a little jumping, sometimes diving in and sometimes walking in the shallow end. Depends on how cold the water is. :-)

Diving in can be fun too. Sometimes I don't care how cold the water may be.

Depends on the temperature of the water and the temperature of outside. If its really hot then ill just dive into a cold pool, but if its a little on the cooler side Ill try and get used to the water.

I depends if I am really hot I will just dive right in. If I am not so hot, then I usually just walk in from the shallow end to get used to the water.

I love diving into the pool, and here in India, generally it is never really very cold. I go in for a flattened dive even when I want to enter the shallow end of the pool. Nothing fancy, but I enjoy the feeling of thrustng through the water and moving underwater, sometimes even upto the other end of the pool, for the initial thrust of the dive is generally enough to do that for me with barely any movement from my feet and hands.

I do that quite often. If the water seems warm, then I will jump or dive in but if it is cold, walk in the shallow end. :-)

Jumping into it. If I dive, the water goes up my nose and stings. I jump into the deep end.

Sorry to hear that water stings and goes up your nose. Jumping into the deep end is safe.

I prefer diving off of the side...it's just more fun. I like to dive off small diving boards too...but I'm too scared to dive from the high ones...I just jump from those.

I don't mind depths at all, but I prefer jumping in over diving

I prefer walking in the shallow end - I am scared to dive, because I am afraid that I will hit my head and break my neck...and jumping in is fine...but not until I am used to the temperature of the water.
