Doing well so far

One of my garden beds - One is doing very well except for low spots.
This was freshly weeded Sunday as well.

This is a shot of one of my garden beds. The bright green is leaf lettuce. Onions, cabbage, and radishes are clearly visible. Carrots, cilantro, dill, and brocholi are also visible if you look closely. Things are doing well considering the lack of rain this month. We are in the 3rd driest May in history for Minnesota as far as rain fall goes. My water bill is getting higher due to watering the gardens. How is your garden going? Getting much rain to help it pout or too much rain? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Last year we had so little rain, we never needed to mow, this year we do need to mow - already, but only just in a few places looking forward to looking at your picture, wish I had someone to do that kind of work for me....

well, we are about an age, but because of my various health problems, I don't do things like gardening - not the least is my allergy to bug bites/stings

We did get some rain but the next day everything was all dryed up. Its been getting really hot here last couple of days in the 90's. The garden gets really dry so I also have to keep it watered.

We don't have a garden but we have been getting some much needed rain. Of course we have been having some hail also along with our stormy rains. Some places around here have gotten more than others but we aren't complaining. We are still kicking up dust around here.

It has been so dry here in my area of Minnesota. The watering ban starts tomorrow so I won't be watering my garden each day. Only on odd numbered days can I water. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

Oh, i'm jealous. I didn't prepare my yard for a garden this year. I have planted a few things on my porch in containers, but no full garden. Your garden looks great though!

We had a bit of frost and it killed our tomato and zucchini plants. These are the plants we started from seed. Yesterday we planted some zucchini seeds and 6 tomato plants. I have to find some Roma tomato plants to place in the garden. I would like to make some homemade sauce this fall. The carrots, green and wax beans and the radishes are doing quite well. We do have to replant the cukes though. Only a few of them survived the frost.

Same weather in the Northeast. I never found the Roma tomatoes but did find some nice big boys! Also found some great cucumber plants. Thanks for the BR Bob!

You've got a nice variety growing. Looks good too, you'll soon have a lot of good things to eat. My garden is doing good so far. We had a touch of frost on a few plants even though we had them covered, then something ate the tops off of my eggplant and some pepper plants. Most of them seem to be recovering, but I may have to replace some. My soaker hose has a timer on it which makes the watering much easier this year.

I wish I had more time to work on my garden! Usually its nice and warm by now but this year its still below 70 almost all the time. I don't think the crops will grow as well this year without that nice sun that we usually get. I have a well so I can water the plants as much as I need without worrying about how much it will cost me. We have a deep well so we also don't ever have to worry about it running out of water. If I know its going to rain I usually skip watering the plants figuring I will let nature do some work for me instead of lugging around the water can all over the yard. I love onions I should give it a try growing those! I don't like radishes those are one thing that I would never bother to grow.

We are getting a nice soak every few days. It started out sunny today and now it looks as if it's 9pm at night! I didn't get near the things planted that I wanted to due to this stupid appendectomy I had on the 16th and am still recovering from, complete with infections and complications.

Hi GRANDPA BOB,# We had a lot of wind and rain last week but these last two days, we are having some very hot weather here and it has been recorded that today was the hottest day this year but will be even hotter tomorrow, carrying watering. Tamara

We have been getting lots of rain here in Ohio. So the gardens here are not very dry. They are growing good. I am a little late in planting everything in my garden. I guess you can say I am a late bloomer this year on planting. But it will produce lots I am sure of that.

Everything's coming along fine, Grandpa Bob. You've done really well this year and will soon be eating all that lovely produce from your garden. I don't know how it seems out there but here, everything's growing so profusely this time around. I'm waiting for my mock orange to open up. I love the perfume of that, and the honeysuckle is out too. Blended together, they will give a wonderful scent to my June garden. Brighest Blessings my friend.

Our garden is doing very well this year. We have had spurts of rain here and there. We had some dry time but the ground did not dry out too bad. We did get alot of rain the other day though and now the ground is very wet again. We have not had to do any watering ourselves yet.

We are in Texas and growing carrots, squash, tomatoes, bell peppers, okra, corn, onions, green beens, lettuce, and spinach. We have had some nice rain last month and the crops are growing fast and furious. We fertilize them every two weeks with Miracle Gro. Didn't expect such a wonderful bunch of crops!
