My fiancee and I are leaving for our honeymoon in 3 weeks! Which means I'll be a MRS in less than 3 weeks - AHH! Anyways, I'm curious as to whether or not we have any Mylot members out there who have either been to St. Pete beach Florida or who live near there. I'd love to hear about some fun things to do there. Maybe some great restaurants or shops to visit. We're planning to also travel to Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater beach - so we're willing to travel to those areas if you know of any fun things in those areas!
Thanks in advance :-)

congratulations on the upcoming "becoming a MRS." LOL!! We went to Florida for our honeymoon too but we went down to Naples, FL and it was so beautiful there. My grandparents use to live in New Port Richie, FL which is in that area that you are going but we havent been down there since 2001 so I have no idea what the area is like now a days...
Just remember it is your honeymoon and no matter what you do you will have a great time....and check out any day cruises they have in the area... when hubby and I were married and stayed in Naples, they have a day cruise down to the Keys... so we signed up for it, only the winds where so bad in March that they didnt left the sea craft out on the waters that week.... but you might want to check into at this time of the year and see.... thats what I can recommend!!!
Happy Honeymooning and Congrats again!!

Hi Jenn...The big day is getting nearer...WOW! only 3 more weeks!
To be honest, there is so much to do everywhere in FLorida. We went about 10 years ago, to St Petes and Tampa Bay. YUp, we drove to tampa bay, twice, to watch hockey games!! We also went to Busch Gardens which is lovely if you like amusement rides and things. Johns Pass Village is where I got most of my shopping bargains. I got T-shirts and other souvenirs really cheap.
There was a lovely fudge store in St Petes where they encouraged us to autograph the ceiling and the fudge was delicious.
One of my favourite things was the boat trip. It was very inexpensive and took us out past rich houses, to a desserted island where we got off to explore, and also during the trip we were followed by many dolphins. There are many lovely boat trips.
Are you staying at Don Ceasars Hotel? It is a lovely place. I have been all through there. Congratulations again, and you will have to post when you get back!

Fort De Soto Park is ranked by some as the nation's number one beach.
The Sunken Gardens would be very romantic for a honeymoon.
The Sunshine Skyway Bridge is a definite must see. At 4.1 miles long it is the longest cable suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere.
Here is an article I wrote about traveling to St. Petersburg if you would like to read it. http://www.ehow.com/how_4849415_travel-petersburg-florida-budget.html
Congratulations!!! I hope you enjoy your honeymoon!!! It sounds like a wonderful trip!

Warm gulf sunsets, unique cultural heritage, vast sporting and recreational activities, fresh seafood and great shopping. There are world renowned museums, and endless sunshine. Caladesi Beach offers 35 miles of white sand on some major barrier islands.
Pay visit to Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, it is one of America's largest wild bird rehabilitation centers, and sounds like a treat. also there is no charge. Shark feeding will command your attention at Konger Tarpon Springs Aquarium.
Jazz musicians entertain the favorite tree cloaked courtyard of the Garden Restaurant on Central Avenue. Flavorful and well done dishes like lamb chops and gourmet pasta.
Take a moonlit cruise a catamaran, or a pirate cruise that has something for everyone.
Any way you go have fun and enjoy your honeymoon. Blessings of fun to you!
