I got an email for the I.R.S. I know it wasn't legit because it came in Spam Email. I have never heard of I.R.S. contacting you by email, Have you? anyway I google it. And it said no It wasn't legit, another source ask a question, For a minute I thought it was real, they wanted all my Information and Bank Card number and wanted everything. They told me my refund was $869.00 and I knew that wasn't right because the only thing I was getting back was $80.00 So be ware of emails like that. irs@.gov Google that and see what you get.

as a former irs employee i know for a fact that even though we live in an electronic world the irs will NOT contact you by email and vary seldom contact you by phone. They will first send out a letter to the last known address on file requesting you to contact them. Because it is a federal offence to open a letter not addressed to you (yes this goes for husband/wife and parent/children as well how ever most people dont know this) this is how they choose to contact you. Most people after receiving a letter will promptly contact the irs to rectify the problem.

The IRS has announced that they NEVER contact anyone via email. If you receive one, it is a SCAM!!! I've probably lost over $100 million from ignoring emails giving me money or willing to give me money if I give them money. I'd rather stay broke than give my money away!!!

Yep. I have received things like this also. I just delete it without opening it up. I heard on the news that it is a scam and the I.R.S. will never email for anything. It is better to just get rid of it.

The IRS will NEVER email or call you. Never fall for those official looking emails. They are scams.
