Is MyLot better than Pickjack? My experience

INTRODUCTION As you know, Pickjack is a website where you can earn money by posting questions. A kind of trivia game. According to the website, you earn points every time your write and answer questions. You also can earn money by referring people. Those points are converted into cash every few hours. The minimum amount to get paid is $0.05 and pickjack pays through Paypal. Many Mylotters are also members of Pickjack but the general opinion seems to be the following: It´s harder to make money at pickjack than at Mylot. When I became member of pickjack (May, 18, 2009) I set out to test this opinion. Here is my experience. FIGURES MyLot: At present I made 117 posts in Mylot and earned $1.73 dollars. On average I am earning 1.48 cents per post. Pickjack: At present I posted 42 questions in Pickjack and earned $0.87. On average I am earning 2.07 cents per post. Figures say that Pickjack is more profitable, at least for me. But there are some aspects we should take into account. Both programs have pros and cons. PROS AND CONS -Pickjack is paying their members every fifteen days and the minimum to get paid is extremely low while MyLot has a $10 minimum. Today it´s payment day at Pickjack so I am going to draw my money long before earning a penny with MyLot. -Pickjack demands not only posting questions but also answering the questions posted by other members. You can´t post a question unless you have answered right twenty questions so it´s extra work. -The balance at Pickjack can increase or decrease depending on your daily activity. You must be active everyday at pickjack (posting and answering questions) in order not to lose your money. Again it´s extra work. -It´s well known that one of the best ways to earn money with MyLot is making long and complete replies to the discussions while the leght of the posts at Pickjack is irrelevant. I think that making a 100 word reply takes longer than writing a 15 word question. CONCLUSION So what do you think? Is MyLot better than Pickjack? Do you still think that Pickjack is less profitable than MyLot after reading this? Why? What is your opinion about these programs? Share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I didn´t make this post with the idea of getting referrals but if someone want to be my referral in Pickjack, just let me know and I will send the link in a private message. Thanks for the reply!

I had not heard of this site before. Will check it now. Good comparison you have given here. The 15 day payout and low payout limit is a good sign. But, staying active day in and day out mighr be a problwm. Here at mylot, I had managed to get 10$ when I had posted about 300+ messages. Havn't been very active since. I also realised that if one stays inactive for more than three months, the previous earning will disappear. This happened to me. Just keep dabbling here now and then. Good info.If this site's got to do with quiz type questions I'm in!

First of all good luck with MyLot and Pickjack! I will be very glad I see you in Pickjack as well. Wow! Very good info! Will your balance be reduced to zero if you stay inactive for three months at MyLot? I didn´t know this could happen! In that case, keeping in mind the essential aspects, MyLot and Pickjack have another feature in common. Changing the subject, I am amazed you have managed to reach the minimum with only 300 posts. It´s 3,3 cents per post. This is a proof that the person who is typing is very important when you are talking about efficiency. Congratulations!

thank you for a very comprehensive comparison between pickjack and mylot. i have been a mylot user for quite sometime already and i do enjoy it here. sometimes i'm active but when i'm on travel, i sometimes get inactive for several weeks. now, what works for me is that when i come back to mylot... my posts are still there and so is my earnings. i can be as active as i want to be here in mylot, no pressure. perhaps as you say with pickjack, i need to stay active to have the earnings. since i only do mylot on free times, i can't always stay active as i need to be if i join pickjack. with less than 1400 posts, i managed to reach pay-outs in mylot several times already and i'm set for my next pay-out of almost $25 again. mylot works for me so i'm sticking to it. i'm not saying it is better than pickjack. it's just a matter of preference and it boils down to what works for each and everyone if we factor in internet time usage, effort and interests.

then it's good that pickjack is working well for you. i know a few other mylotters who are also members of pickjack and have actually been paid. good you found your niche.

You are right when you say that it´s not a contest between MyLot and Pickjack. The aim of my discussion was to stick up for Pickjack. There are many people complaining about the payments: "A few cents, what a shame!" And so on. My experience is an example of what you can earn (on average) by posting witty and relevant questions in Pickjack. One of the weakest points of this program is the fact the balance will increase if you are not active but you can recover a great part of the lost earnings by re-establishing the activity. At present I have the time and the illusion for being active at Pickjack and it is working quite well in my opinion.

You mentioned that you need to be very active in PickJack in order not to lose your earnings? Is that so? Then, I think PickJack is not for me. I am not always online so it will be hard to keep on updating my account. I was out of MyLot for almost 4 months but my earnings are still intact. That is why I like it here, your earnings just keep on going up! And it's a lot of fun, fun, and fun!

I am a bit muddled up with your reply . I thought your earnings would be reduced to zero if you stay inactive at MyLot for three months since loudcry said that happened to her. I don´t know what to think about this. Yes, as I said above, your earnings at Pickjack will be reduced if you are not active every day. But I want to say something about your statement. "Here, your earnings just keep on going up". Ok, they keep on going up if you keep on posting, so in the end, both sites demand the same thing: You want to make money, you must stay active. Right? If you are not active, you don´t earn anything.

Thanks for such a nice comparision. Still I feel you are getting little biased about pickjack because of the low payout option. definitely for mylot minimum payout of 10 dollar makes members wait a lot. But if I am not wrong, even paypal needs certain minimum amount to withdraw or transfer cash to your other account. Also, in long term mylot is much profitable. I hardly find time to post that much, however most of the time I claim tasks and get well paid for them. So in that sense mylot is quite good.

Hahaha! You got me! Probably I am biased because I reckon that Pickjack is a quite unique and original way of making extra cash in the internet. In MyLot I always try to contribute with something relevant to every discussion I reply and most of the times I don´t feel rewarded enough. With respect to Paypal issue I think you are wrong. The great majority of websites where you can make money online are using one of these four payment processors: Paypal, Alertpay, Moneybookers and Liberty Reserve. Paypal and Liberty Reserve have no minimum amount to transfer while Alertpay and Moneybookers work with a limit of $1.01. I agree with you when you talk about the tasks feature in MyLot. It´s a good idea but at present is not very developed.

I would worry that if I could not find the time to be active on the other site that they would start taking money away. For now, I am addicted to myLot but I am relatively new here. You have to like to write then it is not work. I love to write stories and articles so maybe that is why i enjoy it here.

what would worry me is if i had to go on vacation or the hospital, i would loose what i've made? because of not getting online with pickjack? you'd have took time for nothing then

Yes, the fact that you lose money in Pickjack for doing nothing is terrible but posting three questions per day (that´s what I am doing since I became a member) is not very hard in my opinion. Ok, posting three questions involves answering 60 questions first but Pickjack has a feature called "Take Ten". Ten random questions appear in a single screen and you can easily answer them in few seconds. I love to write reviews, articles and even short stories too, but there´s a problem: My mother tongue is spanish and I am afraid that my english skills are not very good. Pickjack is a website less demanding and time consuming for somebody like me.

I do not know much about pickjack, but I think myLot is better and is very good. I have spend lots of time without getting paid in lots of websites. I have been member of myLot for around three years and got paid couple of times and I am very happy that I got paid couple of times from myLot.

I've joined pickjack last month I found out it here so I tried. I posted I think 60 questions the good thing about this sites they send your earnings every 15 days. Although the earnings is low but it is a legit site. It is informative and gonna test your mental ability to answer some questions. I myself search a questions so I can post many questions there.

Hello and thanks for replying my discussion, ajithlal!. If I am not misunderstanding you, you have been paid by MyLot only two times in three years. Let me ask you a question: Have you earned $20 dollars in three years? I seem to remember that MyLot have an option to set the mininum amount to get a payment in $10, $25, $50 and $100 so I can be wrong. Please, correct me. But if I am right you can´t say MyLot is a extremely efficient website for you. How much time have you had to invest to earn your money?

I think mylot is the best site. You see money is not the only consideration for judging a site, one should be able to enjoy on the site. Mylot is very systematic and convenient and user friendly. I have not find any other site as good as mylot. I would like to stick to mylot for ever.

Pickjack is a good site as you had explained. I will check it on myself, but the only thing that I don't like is if you are not active it may decrease your earning. I am not quite active with online earning to be real so I must have to stick with Mylot. For me they are both good site but it depends on every members experience. Thanks for the discussion!

Let me quote your own words: "if you are not active it may decrease your earning". Unfortunately it´s not a matter of probability. If not are not active in Pickjack your earnings will be reduced but there are ways of controlling the losses. If you won´t be active tomorrow, then you should post today twice as many questions you usually post. It´s simple but annoying. And above all you should have a regular activity in GTP programs to reach a regular income. A good piece of advice, hahaha. I am sure you didn´t know that, hahaha. See you at Pickjack and thanks for the response!

I am not interested in online marketing. I´m not very good when it comes to sell things in the real life. If I had to sell products in the internet I wouldn´t know where to start! But I am curious to data entry jobs. I am checking the blog you send me in order to find a legit website that accepts international members. Any piece of advice will be welcome. It´s well known that some data entry are a big scam so I trust in your experience. Thanks in advance!

Pickjack sounds interesting, and you've done a good job comparing it to myLot; a very comprehensive summary! I just don't have time to join another site like this though. I used to be on myLot all the time but don't even get enough time to be on here much these days. But I love myLot because of the community and the fact that you can start or answer discussions about any subject under the sun. It's a friendly place to be and I don't want to start somewhere else when I could just stay here, in familiar, friendly territory, lol!

Too true, and I like your comment about selling a portion of your spare time. Unfortunately on the internet, it's all too easy to undersell that portion of your time that you spend here.. I do like writing articles, but I find it very difficult to earn money from that, and so I do it mainly as a hobby and as an outlet for my creativity!

Yes, I know what you are trying to say. (Unfortunately) Making extra cash can´t be a full-time activity. As I read in other discussion several days ago, nobody gives money in exchange for nothing. When you are trying to earn money in the internet you are selling a portion of your spare time. That is why selecting the most profitable websites is cardinal. A good balance between efficience and self-achievement guarantess great returns. According to your profile, you like writing articles so I have to congratulate you on being able to earn some money with it. Thanks for the response.

The fact that you must log in and post evey day makes it too much like work. I require a flexible schedule so I think I'll just stick with the lot. However you did a masterful job in pointing out the pro's and con's. Information is the key to making good choices.

Thank you for the praises but I didn´t put too effort in making my post. Figures are cold and aseptic. They can only capture a portion of reality. And if this weren´t enough, they can only be applied to my particular experience. There are a lot of factors that an analysis like this one can´t take into account. And the emotional component is very important. If you don´t like a program, you will leave it sooner or later. I don´t think that making three posts a day is too much work but I like Pickjack. It fits my needs. I will keep posting there for a while. Thanks for your response.

Wow,someone has done a lot of thinking and typing! Thanks for all the details you have provided :). I like myLot more for the simple reason that I got a mail from pickjack that they have sent my balance ( which had reached the minimum payout a week ago) to my Paypal account and guess what.Nothing showed up from pickjack in my Paypal account.I sent them 2 emails bringing to their notice this issue, but have not received any response yet. I somehow end up making more on myLot as compared to pickjack.Plus in my case Pickjack has not even paid! So you know which one I prefer ;)

A few months ago rumors were circulating that Pickjack was a scam site. The reason was the same you are explaining in your post: "People receive an e-mail from the website saying that the money has been transfer to the Paypal account and when you log in this payment processor no money was there". Don´t be afraid, I am close to some people that has been paid several times by Pickjack and sometimes they received the money within 24-30 hours from getting the e-mail. I don´t know why this is happening but I think it´s an aspect Pickjack should correct in the future. There are many scams out there and people don´t trust in anything. Thanks for your reply!

You seem to have an open mind and I like it. But I don´t think that the comparative value is the strong point of my discussion. When I was writing the post I was trying to promote Pickjack among those didn´t know of it and illustrate with my particular experience that you can earn more than a few cents with this website with little effort. Considering the great number of responses the discussion has caused, I would say the debate is open. As open as your mind is. Thanks for the response! Good luck at Pickjack! See you!

I had joined Pickjack, but I am not active, I think Mylot is the best website out of all the websites, there are so many other websites where you can make money but I just want to stay here at Mylot, I have been here three years. I just don't have the time for other websites anyway, It's too time consuming. This is time consuming right here at Mylot, but I just like it here. Yes you are right the more you write the more you will get that is a fact! I am trying to reach payout, which is hard. I have about 60 more cents to go. But it's fine. I will just keep posting. Have a very good day!

Three years? Wow! In that case MyLot is one of the most legit programs to earn money in the internet. That´s probably a pro. Pickjack is a website relatively new. When Pickjack has been working and paying three years then we can talk, right? Hahahaha. On the other hand, Mylot it´s extremely time consuming, like you say. In MyLot you have to sit back and think about what you are going to write in the discussions. It´s neccesary to put in order the ideas and so on. Writing questions in Pickjack is more an automatic task. Everyone has played Trivial Pursuit at least once. Everyone remembers some questions. And that´s probably a pro. Good luck with your payment and thanks for the reply!

The earning not much different from mylot and pickjack. The reason that member make post not necessary for money, it can be make friends or just interest. Freakly speaking, if you like to make money from posting, i can offer you 3 cents per post. No minimum payout requirement, i can pay you once you complete the post, it doesnt matter 1 post or 10 posts, i will pay according to the numebr of post.

Absolutely! Money is not the most important thing of life and There may be members in MyLot which main goal is meet people, make friends, learn things and so on. But MyLot is not a forum itself. You can write about several subjects but inside a question/answer philosophy. There are many more specialized websites to make friend, etcetera. So if they choose MyLot, money should play a role in this decision.

I think both are good in their own ways. For me, Pickjack is kinda good cause I have earned more there compared to Mylot but i feel a little bit lonely there as in mylot you can have some fun and chat with others and you will never feel lonely at all.But as for Pickjack the good thing is that the payout is at the minimal and every 15 days but ofcourse staying active is very crucial i guess since i am online atleast an hour a day that wouldn't be a problem for me...

I am a bit suprised at your response although your point of view about Pickjack is quite similar to mine. Can you chat with others here, in MyLot? I can´t find any chat room over here so I think you are talking about sharing thought with other members freely. Now I think about it, maybe a chat room would be an interesting feature in MyLot, wouldn´t it? Answering your comment, Pickjack already have a system of comments and internal messages to contact any other member. And I think that using them is a very effective way to improve the unity of that community. Come on! Hahaha.

MyLot is still better than Pickjack in a sense that you really don't need to post as much as 117 posts. Earning is not based on quantity alone but also on quality. You can get more with few quality posts. Like you said, Pickjack pays too small. If we accumulate the earnings, i will get paid more by myLot than i will be paid my Pickjack in one month. I can even go as high as $17 in a month here in myLot. I don't think that's possible in Pickjack.

Than i guess it's a tie. What do you think? Two different sites. Different styles, different modes of earning. So why not join both right? I couldn't argue with your data because i'm pretty weak in math but you impressed me with your research.

Ok, you are probably right when you say that it´s not only a matter of figures, of quantity. But as long as MyLot is giving money in exchange for quality, a good definition of this concept is neccesary. What are we talking about? Spelling, Ortography, Grammar, Originality, Number of Responses? Changing the subject, I must congratulate you for your earnings. $17 a month for doing what you like to do is a victory. But we are talking about efficiency. How much time did you spend working in MyLot to reach that amount of money? I spent about one hour a day in Pickjack to earn my money.

I joined pickjack and don't care for it at all. It is more of a pain than anything else. I didn't find anyway to have a regular log in type page. You just answer a load of questions and then you are finally good enough to ask one question. To me, it wasn't worth the time that I spent there.

Ok, one man´s meat is another man´s poison. I sometimes feel the time I spend thinking about what I am going to write in the discussions and the time I spend writing it at MyLot is not worth. As I said above, I never spend more than a hour at Pickjack. Let me explain: maybe fifteen minutes to answer twenty questions with the take ten feature and less than five minutes to write a question. Three times a day and that´s it. At present I am earning about 3.4 cents per question. I wrote 60 polls and my balances is $1.21 plus the $0.82 I drew June, 3. Not too bad!

I agree. To each his own. I don't find it particularly rewarding for my situation. I prefer to write articles actually, and I make quite a bit more doing that than I do for mylot of pickjack. I guess I just have too much to say about everything for it to be cut down to one short question as well. I like it hear because there is at least interaction with the other members, so you get to socialize a little. I am definitely not putting down anyone who enjoys pickjack.
