I visited Barbados in March and what a beautiful place. It is a small island in the caribbean and a popular tourist spot. "The Gap" is probably one of the most frequented spots for tourists and you can scuba dive, snorkle and enjoy the scenery. If you need a getaway, there are spots there to retreat and no one will bother you. And did I mention that the beaches are just inviting? I was there for 4 days but I got a bit of entertainment, rlaxation and to spend some time with my family. Looking forward to my next stop.

Hi,
I have never been to Barbados but it does sound great. My last holiday was snowboarding, New Hampshire, US & it was brilliant!! That was back in February and we're hoping to get away again later in the year although it will be a last minute thing I think, most likely to the US.
We are planning to go snowboarding again next year but perhaps west coast instead of east or Canada!! We'll have to see how the money is after christmas!!

It is brilliant, cold but brilliant!! The thing I found really funny was, the day we arrived we parked up at the hotel and a couple of the cars had the windscreen wipers pulled back. Now this, where I work is a standing joke, so I went off giggling to myself until the next morning. It was that cold, the windscreen wipers froze to the windscreen and the fresh snow on the boot was frozen so thick it took us half an hour to get the boot open to load up!!
Always remember there is a reason for everything & if the locals are doind it, you do it too!!
Snowboarding is great, I learnt on a fake slope in a day!!! Then put it to practice for the first time this year and it's very different!! Better though!! I'm not great at it but I enjoy it, my husband also boards and he is awesome!! Our eldest ski's, so I'm thinking of learning that in a day this year for next year!! See which one I like better!!
I would recommend American or Canada mid winter just for the views, although driving in the mountains can be a bit scary!!
We also been to Florida, new york etc when it's been red hot but I love the extremes there better than rainy old Britain!!
I will make it somewhere else eventually but most likely when the kids are grown up & gone!! Or at least when they are old enough to pay for themselves!!

Okay, that is sounding great! I know I that I would probably encounter a winter at some point seeing that my boyfriend is in the US and I brace myself for it but why not make it memorable and try some snowboarding ! I could be scary when you think of coldness, snow and you don't know what you are doing ! LOL
You make it sound like fun and I know that my boyfriend will be thrilled that I am willing to give it a try.. Thank ya...

The last vacation spot i've been is an island cove and it was semi private kind of beach.
The beach is peaceful and you will enjoy the privacy. Getting there is not the part you will be enjoyING if you hate adventure or a little thrill. The way or the road is not that good and it is really not good to say it.
Going there should be planned enough in bringing something especially food.
There's no electricity and no cottages yet so better have some emergency light, or candles or tent with you if you are planning to visit. Staying there is affordable and enjoyable if you want to have peace and relaxation.
There is no souvenir to buy so it helps you to save.

It maybe like doing camping but we are in the beach, we use tent as cottage and use candle as our light at night. It is far from the market and you can not see anything but water and mountain surrounds it. It is not yet fully develop and it is still semi private because no one joins with you if you are in regular days and before the peak of holidays come.
Before you can reach the place you have to cross the rough road and the called 45 degree and curve zigzag road so it feels like an adventure but after it a peaceful and beautiful beach awaits.

Ahhhh.. You know.. before listening to you guys on My Lot I would have never guessed that India had so many beautiful beaches. There are some countries that are highlighted in certain ways that over shadow the beauty within that country. Trinidad is beautiful as well but we have had a rise in crime and it is all that you hear now. I have been hearing a lot about the beauty of India and thank you for sharing that.

In January I went to South Africa and it was summer time then. I flew for 12 hours with my toddler son. We explored Cape Town and the Garden Route. I loved seeing the penguins, the botanical gardens, scratch patch with the crystal and going on a safari for a few hours. Barbados sounds lovely and I do so adore tropical islands.

Now South Africa is on my 'to visit" list. My niece was there 2 years ago fora pilot project and she loved it there. Sent me pictures. The sandy beaches and the Safari was really something to see. Sometimes we only see the poverty and violence associated with South Africa but there is so much beauty there that is overshadowed. I hope you get to visit Barbados some time or even here in Trinidad.

Well the last place I visited for a vacation was Lake Thaoe, Nevada. it was March 2009 so there was still snow on the ground. not to cold just right. It was 3 couples and we rented out a huge luxury home. three stories with a elevator and a spa. it was really nice. we went to a snowmobile place I can't recall the name but it was the only one really in town that does tours. it was a 2 hour tour and we went to the top of the moutain wow how beautiful. You could see the crystal blue lake and all the pretty snow and trees.. it was breath taking and so relaxing. The only thing I didn't like was the elevation made me a little tired and weak
they also had alot of shopping places, malls, and casino's for those who like to gamble. I would recommend it for families.

Oh Wow! That is sounding really nice.. I will say it again, I hate the cold lol. but listening to you guys descibe these places makes me think that hey.. I should give it a try even once and plan to really enjoy it instead of just expecting it to be cold. I like the idea of breath taking and relaxing and the crystal blue lake. It sounds like a real get away. Thanks for sharing that AcousticSoul. I will look it up on the internet. Take care.

the last vacation we took was in september of 2007 and we drove to niagra falls, canada side from nj. we had been there before but my husband and i wanted our son to see it before you had to start using passports and all so we took him then. he had an extended summer vacation that year because they were doing construction on his school and they got out june 11th and did not go back to school until sept 17th so we went to canada as soon as school started for everyone else and it was so nice because it was not crowded and we had a really nice time.

The last time I visited Niagra Falls was in 1993! It was beautiful and I was able to sit by the wall and look over as the water flowed to go over the falls. It was cold! But hey it was a treat. I play our national instrument which is called the steel pan (a lot of north Americans may know it as the steel drum. The ochestra I played with at the time was visiting Toronto and we went to the falls. We had so much fun. It's even better when you go as a group isn't it. It's been a long time since I went there but need to go back. Canada is so beautiful. Have you ever been to the Caribbean?

My last vacation trip was down to Orlando, Florida. actually, that's where my next vacation is planned for as well. We have a timeshare down at Disneyworld so we're able to go there usually once a year. We were there in December and it was the first year we were at Disneyworld for the Christmas holidays. This October we will be there for the halloween festivities. I am really looking forward to it.
Last summer, we went to Vero Beach in Florida. This was the first time in all my years that I had actually seen and been near the ocean. It was a great experience and we all had a great time.

Okay. I have been hearing about Disney World forever! I know should I ever get there whether with kids of just me and my sweetie I will let loose and be a kid again LOL.
I don't think anyone could ever get stressed at Disneyworld and it takes you back to those childhood days that some of us wish we can revert to sometimes when the challenges of adulthood get to you. I hope you and you family can visit there again and have some fun...

My last vacation spot last month was in Palolem Beach and Bogmalo Beach in Goa, India. If you check my profile i added some photos of me in the beach where i got really tanned because i used to go out on a motor bike with hubby as we stroll a lot of cool places in Goa.
We also visited Dona Paula there and it was also a tourist spot. Goa is a place where there are lots of Portuguese relics and churches built. An additional bonus was the Goan sea food cuisine that I like a lot.
Last year i was able to visit my country Philippines and was able to experience Iba Zambales Youth Camp with my brothers and sisters in Christ. I didn't travel South. I just merely stay in Makati Manila to where we live.

I will check your site for photos. In Trinidad, we don't have a lot of lobster. We have crab and shrimp and fish of course.. but I would love to taste some more Lobster. I like the idea of the Relics and old church buildings. So much history and India is a place with so much culture and History. Happy it was a good experience for you.

Just this summer me and my friends went to Boracay, Philippines. A lot of people go there especially on holy week because there are lots of activities and parties by the beach. Unfortunately, my special someone was supposed to come with us but then got sick and was not able to go with us. I didn't enjoy much the nice beach and everything since I was thinking of my honey who I left in Cebu. But I do promise to go back there and bring my honey with me.

My last vaccation spot was Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of world. It is built by the famous Mugal king Shajahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz. It is fully made of marble and is considered as the famous monument and pride symbol of India across world. It is a great place to visit.
