Whatever gets you through the day

I was posing this question to get an idea of how you get through your day when you have worries or challenges to deal with. Whatever the struggles we have I believe that we need to count our blessings. I usually have some worries on my mind straight from the beginning of the morning and onward. What I try to think about is my son and family and that I am happy that they are healthy and alive. I also am glad that I have food on the table and that I have a roof over my head. I would like to be able to have more and do more but I can't have certain things right now. I was wondering if there are certain thoughts that you keep in mind during the day that help you get through.

That is a good thing that you can count on the many blessings that you have. Sometimes it is hard to get through the day when you have challenges or worries like I do. I suppose that we all have to worry about something and it is nice to know that we can think of some things that make us happy so we can make it through the day. You sound like a good person and you think about others around you. I agree that myLot can help pass the time especially when you have some nice people to talk with. Best of luck to you.

That is a great thing that you can wake up and know that your family is there for you. Sometimes when we think about the special people in our lives we feel we can make it through anything. Grandchildren can bring great joy I can only imagine. Life has a lot of struggles we need to deal with and if we can take things one step at a time and appreciate what we have then that is a good thing.

Whenever I have something I'm worried about all it takes is one phone from or to my fiance, and I tell him what is bothering me or what I am worried about. Talking it over with him always helps me get past it. And daily, I am thankful for having a wonderful family, healthy and happy daughters and a beautiful granddaughter. I have my health and am still able to do what I love, my job, wildland firefighting. I am also thankful everytime I get a phone call from my fiance after he has been on a fire assignment, he is a structural firefighter. Since we are in different states at the moment, he always calls me if he is paged out to a fire, and then when he returns safely to the station. I agree with you that not enough people stop and think about all the blessings they have in their lifes.

That is good that you know you have some people to depend on. It is not easy to make it through the day sometimes with the worries and problems that enter into our lives. We need to have some blessings that we can count on. Being able to talk things out with someone is also a very good thing to be able to count on. It sounds like you appreciate your family and that you have a job that you can enjoy. All of these things you can take into consideration each day and be grateful when you think about them.

I do what I can can ask God to do what He can. Turning my troubles over to him--after I've done my best--is a great stress reducer and I know everything will come out for the best. I, too, count my blessings. I begin the day with praise and end it with prayer. Works for me, keeps my morale up and makes all my problems seem smaller. I say short prayers throughout the day, mostly of thanks, and that really reinforces my conviction that my life is a good one. Sometimes, though, I really get down and everything gets to me. Then I have to have a good cry and a heartfelt talk with God. Then I play with the dogs. Those 3 actions are magic and always make me feel I can get back on my feet and keep fighting.

I can see that you have a great mind to think the way that you do. Turning your troubles over to God and letting him handle them is something to look forward to with each passing day. Sometimes it seems that the challenges never quit. It is almost like there is always another test or hurdle to overcome. Having your faith and belief system can help you through the day that is for sure. It is also good that you have those dogs. They can serve to be just as good a friend as anyone. They keep you company and you don't feel so alone. There is also that unconditional love that you receive from animals that never fails. I am sure that you have some good friends also. I hope that you have fun here and that corresponding with others has helped you in some manner.

The possibility of a bright future gets me through the day. I am happy to have a supportive family, good friends, and a love in my life. The future in general is what gets me going.

What gets me through my day? My children. I'm blessed to have such beautiful, strong, healthy little girls. They make me smile every day, even though I can be fuming mad at them, and inspire me to better myself. Also, my friends and family help me through my days as well. When the world seems like it's out to get you, they are who you can rely on to help make your worries and cares drift away, if only temporarily.

everyday we have something new to worry about and that is life. but also everyday we learn few more things that can make life worth living. in a very stressful day i usually lay down on bed and give myself an alone time. juts a few minutes to be with myself alone. then i will talk to my wife and play with our child. my wife and my child means the world to me. they are the reason why life is more fun living. yes there are problems and stuggles but it gets more easy to be through it if you hold the hands of people you care for. counting are blessing is one of a good thing to do as well. by realizing how blessed you are the more you appreciate life.

That is called ambitions for life. If we are happy with watching food on our table or having a roof above our head then we will be the same in our whole life but if we think ahead and think about having a big house and car then our mind will be thining a lot towards fulfiling our dreams, isn't ti? But for that you will have to be worried most of the time because unless and until we are worried we will not concentrate on our target, can we? So, the choice is ours, be happy with whatever we have or be worried of getting more and more for our life. For me, I am worried because I want to have more and more for my life.

The only way for me to get through the day is to simply focus on finishing the taks at hand and so fort. and not to mention praying when things doesn't go well as planned.. I just motivate myself and pray that i get to finish in a day even though there are times i find completely impossible.

When I was younger I had gratitude journal, and I used to write down the good things that happened each day and the things that I was grateful for. I don't do that any longer, but I still make a gratitude list inside my head when I wake up and when I go to bed. Some years I decided to write down all the things in my life that I was grateful for from the smallest things to the big things. I wrote about my family, my friends, my pets and my health. I also wrote ablout having a place to live, having food to eat, having learned to read and write, sunshine, nature etc etc. I still add things to the list, and so far I have about 600 things. If I am sad or very worried I sometimes look at the list and it makes me see things in a more postive light.

Kelly- I have unique phrases that mean a lot to me posted throughout my house at eye level. They are there for me to see if I happen to have one of those days where worry decides to rear its ugly little head. I would offer that perhaps if you find those little quotes or sayings that are uplifting to you, you could put them on your fridge where you're going to see them on a regular basis. The other thing I do is deep breathing. Deep breathing can help restore oxygen levels and reduce stress, and is very good for helping me to refocus. You want to bring the air in deep pushing your belly out as you do so, then on the exhale imagine pullying your belly button to your back, as you relax your abs your breath will come back in naturally. I do this for a count of 20 times. Namaste-Anora

What gets me through the day - thinking that I have it far better than most people - knowing that fact gets me through the day. Life is not the easiest right now - but it could be worse. Being grateful for what I have and looking forward to getting to those that I want. Definitely the little blessings in life - like you've already stated. Though I must add - coffee definitely gets me through the day. The day can't even start without coffee. =P Cheers!

The first thing that helps me to get through a day is my son.. He is my inspration, to get through even the roughest days... Right up there along with him would have to be my faith in God. If it was not for his graces, I would not have the roof over our heads or the other things that we need to have to make it through each day.. The n it is three ladies in my life that have been there for me through it all...the good, the bad, and the ugly... And if I am having a really hard day, I talk to one of the or all of them and it makes me feel a lot better... Also I have a boyfriend that has really started to show his true self, and I really look forward to talking to him at night....he is a truck driver, so normally during the day he is driving, and the company that he works for really frowns on him for talking on the phone, even with a hands free device...
