On approving friend requests.

I have been receiving friend requests one after another here in MyLot. The same also happens in my other social networking pages. Most requests are from people I don't even personally know. Here in MyLot, I just accept whoever sends requests as I believe I need to gain more friends here. Besides, it's nothing really personal. Unlike in SNS, I think it's important that we keep track who are in our friends list. As much as possible, I only approve those who are really my friends or the people I know.
Would you reject friend requests from people you don't know?

I used to accept all. Now I only accept people with some of the same interests. If cats or dog is one of them, I automatically accept.

No i think i almost never reject friends requests i found it a good way to keep in touch to some people here and so also having a good activity checking their activities and in many cases common interests to share or discuss in different new discussions as well!!

Yeah, that is a great thing. You have to approve every friend request here in mylot because the discussions started by your friends are also beneficial to you because you will know what are the discussions your friends started. Don't worry if you don't really know your friends in mylot, its just like meeting new ones and loosing someone. It's better to have new ones than loosing someone.

When I receive a friend request, I check their profile page to see if we have anything in common. After all, you wouldn't make friends with someone with whom you had no common interests, would you? I don't mind what age they are or which country they are from, I accept friends whose interests and opinions are in tune with my own thinking.
I denied a friend request this morning, because the person had no posts, only lots of friends. This is usually a sign that they only want you as a friend so they can spam you with links to referral sites and money making schemes which promise the earth and deliver nothing.
I have become really good friends with one member, and we are in contact every day, apart from discussions. I would never have met this person but for Mylot, so the friends feature can be quite rewarding.

I accept whoever sends me a request because I believe everyone deserves a chance to get to know how nice a person is. Even if a person acts rude with some people, he or she could be a nice person inside.
