i dont really advocate to tech dogs some tricks, even not the easiest ones. my dog doesn't know any of these tricks, and she is sometimes quite dumb. but i think a dog is a dog,it is not a person, and it doesn't necessarily leran these.

it's easiest to teach them when they are young, but I think most dogs can be taught to shake. the way i taught my dog, over a few days, i would have him sit in front of me, then say "shake" or "give me paw" which ever one you use, get him familiar with it. after you say it, pick up his paw and make him shake. then, say it again, and if he doesnt do it on his own, tap his paw with your finger, you may want a biscuit or a treat to reward him when he does it right. after a couple of days, if you keep working with him like this he should do it on his own, maybe even sooner. good luck!

Repitition and patience are the keys. Also, postive rewards like petting the dog and saying good boy/girl and getting excited when the dog does something good. Dog cookies/treats work good as well for rewards, just make sure you don't over do it on the cookies, which can cause them to gain weight.
