A very dear friend of mine is ( or shall I say WAS) in the Military. He served 25 years. He recently came up POSITIVE on a drug test..actually..this happened twice in the last few months. I knew he had a drug problem in the past and I tried to help him..he told me, " he din't need any help." Well.....to make a long story short, alot of his 'friends' are starting to 'walk away' from him and I've 'been there' through thick and thin. He's SOOOOO upset and just 'lashing out'. What should I do? Just 'stick' by him? Any suggestions?

Be there for him, and support him. Show him you are a true friend. Let him know gently that you disagree with his choices, but that no matter what you are there to support him and help him through his rough time. He may not be receptive to some things, but hopefully you can help him recover, and he will be very appreciative later. Just don't let his situation bring you down.

Just keep being there for him, be ready when he does want to talk. If his other friends are starting to walk away from him then he will definatly need you so just hang in there!
Hope he manges to sort himself out, and i hope he doesnt push too many people away in the process. Any kind of addiction is hard to fight, so he will need all the help/and support he can get!

in this type of scenario you mentioned i practically have no idea of the kind of help you or any other person can render but in less difficult situation i think the first thing to do is to comfort the friend and take a look at how he or she got into such trouble and if it something beyond my financial power i will try and help the person

Well when ma friend is in a problem I'm in a tizzy !!!
Well the perfect way to get out of this stuff is to be with him
and boost his confidence rather than telling him the negative of it !!
Well being optimistic is really good !!!
I feel really bad when ma friend is in a trouble !!!

when he said he didnt need any help, its mean alot to him if someone really can give him much help. if you can help him pass through his difficulties, give smart advice, always take care of him,,one day he will realise he not alone. love him and consider he as your brother, but do as you can.

hi martym
i think you should tick with your friend as he is always been your good friend..a true friend is one who is there in good as well as bad times......at present he needs support from his family and friend....and you have to be his support pillar....you need to divert his mind and make him feel that he is not alone.....you are there with him when ever he needs help you will certainly come up to help him....those friends who just walked away by seeing him in this condition are not his good friends.....and god is there to see who is right and who is wrong......all the best and take care o your friend best of luck for him also.......
