Many people add ice cream or yogurt to their smoothies but that only adds fat and calories. If you add frozen banana along with any other juicy fruit you will get a delicious, creamy smoothie without all the extra stuff that no one really needs. Some of my favourite fruits to use along with the frozen banana are strawberries, peaches or orange. You don't even need to peel the peaches, just remove the pit and toss it in, the skin is extra fibre and vitamins. You can also just use a combination of different fruits without the banana. Use juice or cold water along with the fruit and make your own "fruit punch" without all the added sugar and chemicals that you will find in the frozen or canned type. Another good one using frozen banana is milk, ice cubes, and coffee. You can even sneak in some carrot, celery, or other veggie with the fruit and make a healthy drink that kids might actually try.
