Do you still celebrate your birthday? If so, how?

I'm sort of in a fix right now. Tomorrow, I'm turning a year older and basically, it will be my last birthday as a miss (i'm getting married this December) and ironically, I will not be celebrating it like I usually do. That is, throw a small party at work and go out with friends and then after, spend the rest of the time with my family... This year, I will just be having dinner at home after I'm done with work... and it feels kind of strange to me. For other Mylotters, do you still celebrate? Do let me know.

I too have now had my last "single" birthday!! I'm getting married in two weeks. Congrats to you on your upcoming marriage! :-) I swear my birthday is so different each year. A lot of times I don't celebrate much. I'm ok with that - although a party once in a while is nice. I don't know how old you'll be turning, but I just turned 25 in March. I find that each year older that I get the less exciting my birthday gets. I think older people would probably agree with this. Once I have children I expect for my birthdays to get somewhat exciting again because kids always love doing things for mommy and daddy.

Aww... that's so nice to hear. Congratulations to both of us. Teehee. I know... I usually celebrate it but this year it's actually the opposite. I'm actually turning 27 tomorrow (I am no longer in my mid-20's! Haha!) so I would definitely like to make it special... but I guess, I will make things different for a change. You're right kids will definitely make birthdays more interesting. I'd love to see the bright faces of my future kids when they know that it's mommy or daddy's birthday. cute.

hello there rosedust.... yes i do celebrate my birthday.but always different every year.when i was younger.. much younger than today... i usually celebrate it with many people; family, friends(school, work, around the neighbor)there is a lot food and a small party in the house. but now it is changing... i celebrate with a few but very close people, we have a smaller gathering. sometimes my family or friends just go out and have fun going to the malls or to a different place. have a nice day ahead of you....

Wow... your birthdays sound grand to me. I usually spend it with my closest friends (mostly from college) and of course, my family... I think the last time I had a big party was when I was 17... haha... when I turned 18, I had a very small celebration with my family. Strange huh?

I dont have a set birthday plan,it changes every year. Ive just had a birthday and i had a day out with friends and my boyfriend and the zoo, alcahol was involved at some point too :),I think as you get older though birthdays become less important till you have kids yourself....... i Just like the presents bit :)

I seldom "celebrate" my birthday and I don't think this year will be an exception. The fact is that not many people know my birthday and I simply won't inform them to celebrate it for me. Usually, I will have dinner with my parents just like any other nights on the birthday and that's all.

Hi faisai... In a way, we're the same. I don't usually let people know it's my birthday. Only my close friends and family members know my routine. However, with the job I have, it's very hard to keep the birthday a secret. So there... I just got bombarded with "How old are you" questions... which I didn't answer... haha. let them guess.

First of all, a very happy birthday in advance. And then, congratulations and my hearties wishes for your upcoming wedding. Now, considering the birthday point, I agree that there are times when you feel that you want something to happen on your birthday, but you really dont know what....and so, in turn, u end up having a simple birthday.... Try to spice things up a bit....here is a whacky idea....make this birthday of urs a bachelorette birthday party....call all ur friends at home, order Pizzas and drinks, and make ur last single birthday a lot of fun. Play games one would usually play in bachelorette parties....and do something crazy.... You could also go out with friends and family for dinner at a restraunt, and do something really naughty there....like stand on the table and dance....try it....U'll love it! And yes, do let me know how it went....and wat u did!!!! Happy Birthday once again! :)

Thanks a lot! Hahaha! A bachelorette party... teehee. You know what? My co-workers were actually talking about that the other day and they came up with some really crazy stuff. I actually celebrated my birthday the complete opposite of how I usually do it. That is, I stayed home for once and celebrated it with my close family... and the thing there is, I don't regret it. The time spent was very meaningful.

celebrating my birthday become more fun and interesting after i got married the woman that i loved because we celebrate our birthdays twice a year (mine and her), and now after having two kids i have a birthday party four times a year. In every time we all go out for dinner in a special resturant and before we go i order a cake to be on the table after we finished our dinner and prepare a gift for the one who we celebrate (his/her) birthday.and everyone is happy.

My family treats me to my favorite restaurant. I always look forward to my birthday because my mom always invite a surprise guest for me. Like last year she invited my favorite uncle whom I have not seen in ages.

i have a somewhat unique routine when it comes to celebrating my own birthday. the plan is pretty much the same every year. I try not to deviate from it, but something always prevents me from following through with it. I try to just stay at home, and sleep all day. I got the idea from watching nature programs. It's a sort of Bear/groundhog type of this. I peek outside the bedroom door to see if people are waiting to jump out and wish me a happy birthday. I really need to get some new locks or something.

First of all congratulation to you in advance for your marriage. And yes celebrate my birthday till now and I celebrate it with my family, If any friend came to me or if we are near then I celebrate it with my friends. Otherwise I celebrate it with only my family. And it is not like to organize any type of party it is just a little and sweet celebration with my family members. and I am happy with this.

I don't really celebrate my birthdays every year but when i do its always with my family members. Its always the same kind of routine every year. Which is, we just have a small prayer and then have dinner together. I do celebrate with my friends before i got married. And i still do after becoming a wife. Its just that the celebration mostly revolves around family.

Congrats for the marriage. Me too. I'm used to celebrate my birthday with my friends at our house and we do it 'til midnight. Then when I got married and had a baby, I celebrated my birthday not much like my usual birthday but what can I do? My life is different now.

The best way I celebrate my birthday is to wake up being grateful I have had another birthday. My children sing to me. Go out to dinner with my husband and just enjoying it. the best things in life are free. Throughout the day, I do some of my favorite things which I don't often have time for, such as a long walk, or go out in my kayak. It's doing whatever makes you happiest is what makes the best birthday, or for that matter, any day!

Hi rosedust! I haven't celebrated my birthday in years. The last one was about 10 years ago, I think, and before that was back in my (early) teens. Nowadays I just treat my birthday like any other day, though I do like to get a birthday wish from my husband and kids. Happy belated birthday to you! And congrats on your upcoming marriage! I hope it lasts forever!

Hey, No not really, I haven't actually celebrated my birthday ever in my entire life. My parents also aren't really ever in the mood to help me to have a happy birthday. Pretty much all of my birthdays have been sad ones, not happy. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

I always celebrate my birthday with a lunch or dinner with my family. I also blew my birthday cake with my niece as my suppport. lol. Nah! she (my niece) usually blows all our birthday cake. She's very excited when she does it so we gave her the opportunity.
