If you could witness an event from the past, what would you choose and why?

Imagine someone has finally invented time machines, and everyone could only have one trip! What would you want to see.
I think I'd like to go back to the Dawn of Man! At least that would end the eternal question of creation versus evolution. lol!

Oh what it would be like to be a toddler or baby again. I wouldn't really like to be a baby because there isn't much you can really do, but if you were a toddler? I think that would be great. Playing with legos. Drinking juice boxes. Watching Eureka's Castle. Sounds good to me!

What a great question, so many things in our bright, colourful although sometimes chequered history to choose from. I did think of going back to 1912 when the great White Star liner the Titanic sunk because that is one of my interests, I do have a fascination with the Titanic and I went to Southampton this month to the Titanic museum they have on the front, it was a wonderful experience, the audio and visual reports from the travellers on board the luxury liner. But to actually be there on the ship, with it's splendour I'd be wanting to warn the captain to slow down and avoid the icebergs, but then that would change the future wouldn't it so I wouldn't be able to mess with the past, it's bad enough seeing the film it brings a tear to my eye but being able to go back and be on the liner itself and not being able to warn the captain of what will happen. Great discussion thank you.

i am a huge history fanatic and love anything to do with history. i am especially interested about the every day life of people caught in different events such as the turn of the 20th century. there are way too many events that i am interested in to choose just one!

I'd like to see the pyramids in their greatest glories :D I wouldn't want to feel the heat and I wouldn't want to be caught and then flung into the world of slavery, I just want to see that scene. Oh and if it's not too much, I'd like to know what their foods taste like (the rich people's food of course LOL).
Also, regarding creation and evolution, is it so difficult to accept both can coexist? What's so wrong about the thought that we were created as monkeys and then evolved into humans. God created the world in 7 days - but those are "God days", each day may have been a millennium for mortal beings :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion :)

That's why I'd like to go back to that time. It would not surprise me to find that evolution is God's tool to create this world. I too don't think of God's day being the 24 hours we know. He created the sun, moon and earth (presumably the other planets too) so his day wouldn't be measured in earth time. lol.
Interesting choice, you would even be able to see who really did build them and why!
