Do you feel an emotional attachment to a song in particular? If so why?

I have come across many songs in my lifetime that have come to remind me of something special or a special occasion or something. Do you have any songs that remind you of something special?

I do, almost all the time and almost all the songs that captures my attention. Most of the songs that I have in my gadget have something to do in the past. I would suddenly remember something that happened – bad or good – or I would remember someone and that makes it interesting of course.

I have so many songs that my mind has connected like certain memories to it is ridiculous... like every song reminds me of something... I love music and I am usually almost always listening to it, so I guess that makes sense.... but there are some that really stand out... like my best friend Joyce was killed in a hit and run accident the first day of our freshman year and all of her favorite songs that she used to listen to at that time make me want to cry when I hear them... like The Freshman, Don't Speak by No Doubt, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova by Oasis... there are some songs I remember listening to when I drove up to first move to Indiana with Brad like I'm With You by Avril Lavigne and Roll To Me by Del Amitri I think is there name... anyway I could go on forever and ever and ever.... and of course I just love The Ballad of Curtis Lowe by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and that's just for no apparent reason other than it's awesome lol... and luke loved that old song Signed Sealed Delivered when he was just a lil guy.... girl I better stop cause I could seriously give ya a list 40 miles long!!

Hello amanda08 , the song that has an emotional attatchment for me is "Keep holding on" by Blackie Lawless of WASP. It makes me feel melancholy when I hear it. My former b/f showed me the song back in 1996. My former b/f and I split up 3 weeks before we were to get married.

wow... I am sory to hear about that... isn't it amazing how certain pieces of music stick with us, although some of the memories they bring up aren't so god, it still amazes me that there are so many times when I hear a song and my mind has "filed" away certain memories with the song.

there are times when a song can actually make me cry. usually when it reminds me of a sad experience of if it reminds me of a person i care about. for example, i always cry whenever i hear the songs that me and my roommates used to sing back in high school. they are actually happy songs, but still they make me cry. sometimes even when the song does not remind me of anything about my life, i still am emotionally attached to it. for example, songs by taylor swift. she's really a good songwriter, and i can say a storyteller as well.
