What is the reason why we don't put our pics in our profile?

I wouldn't have a picture of myself on a forum where any user can view it without my restrictions... kinda eefy for me!

Hi Niah...The reason I don't have pictures of myself in my profile is for personal reasons - I don't need or want anyone being abusive on the basis of my pictures. I don't think anyone would get scared if you have pictures on your profile but I agree with you - I want to be private too.

THE reason i don't have a picture i don't know how to put one on there. Guess i need to get my son to fix me one. He put on my facebook from his house. I BET U WOULDN'T SCARE A SOUL.

LOL I bet NOBODY would be scared if you posted your picture. No one has been scared of mine yet and I've been here for a good 4-5 months. . I can understand why people might not want to post their pictures on the internet - as you mentioned, it's a privacy issue. A lot of people feel unsafe putting their picture on the internet - and I don't blame 'em. There are so many creeps & weirdos online that it's actually a wise move. And nobody really NEEDS to see your picture here on myLot; I like to think that we judge people by what they say (or what they type, rather, lol) rather than what they look like.

Niah- My picture in my profile is the real me. I don't mind sharing with people who I am, what I look like, and so forth. That is the point of social networking sites such as this one, and others. I've never understood not having a real picture somewhere in the profile even if you set that set for friends only because it helps people see the real you. To me, I've always thought that those who don't ever have a real picture up somewhere are simply hiding something. Namaste-Anora

I had one of me and my youngest dog, but I decided to put the rose instead. as it is so pretty, and it is also my wallpaper on my laptop. I thought the rose would fit my username better, and it stands out more. I am like a lot of others though, that I don't really like sharing personal pictures with people I don't know. Once I take a different pic of me with my wecam, then I might put one on here, but for now, I am just going to keep the rose. Well, good luck to ou and happy mylotting.

The reason I don't post pictures to my profile is because I have a dial up connection and it takes so freaking long to upload a picture ;)...lol Another reason is, the pictures I have are personal in nature, I just can't bring myself to share pictures of my children with people I've never met before (no offense meant to anyone). It makes me feel uncomfortable.
