A Friend Sparks an Idea

I have been lucky in my time here to meet and hang out with several of the folks who have been here a while. Some were here, left, and came back in new outfits. Some are really well known and have a familiar face where ever they show up. Some have many real and true friends among the lot. Just in the last little bit there has been a rise in those same folks getting discussions that don't seem to violate terms deleted. Some others who are simple folks have gotten suspended or banned. (note to self: I miss those folks) Now reporting things that need it.... great I see the need for that. Trolls are folks who go in to discussions and report them for the fun of it. The administration isn't paying close enough attention to what they are pulling and what they aren't. I know they are busy folks but if they want this site to stay active and what it is meant to be then they need to wake up a bit. If someone is being repeatedly reported tell them why after checking into it unless they are in your face spammers or plagiarists. People are thinking the Lot is going to stop paying them. Some don't care but others do. The lot will lose people if that thinking keeps up. My Lot should tell people what's up so those rumors will stop. I think maybe those of us who care to see the folks stay and the trolls go should hatch a plan. If people in good standing keep getting banned or removed, then we should stop starting new discussions. Maybe one of us a day and we all hang out there? I'm open to suggestions.

I get what you mean. Like we ban mylot for banning or wrongfully deleting good discussions that didn't deserve it. But the mylot population has grown so tremendously, I think it would have to be a majority of users and who has THAT MANY friends except for all the 'friend collectors' that we good users shun, because they are just scammers.

I would think that the "regulars" would matter. The people who post often and have those nice quality discussions that go on for months. I realize it's a pipe dream but maybe there is an awareness factor?

I know, and I would think that she matters, too, yet they have suspended her. Maybe I have just lost faith in the fairness here at mylot, because they have allowed the deletion of so many of her perfectly good discussions that violated NO guidelines whatsoever, regardless of how many of us emailed them. *sigh* I applaud your effort, and I would be somewhat hopeful of it working, but I wish we could all put our heads together and do SOMETHING to get mylot to fix this crap.

Wait, I think I know who you're talking about--the title of the discussion Sparked a clue. Am I on the right tangent? I agree--it seems that folks were first encouraged to post meaningful discussions to provoke original thought...and now those same folks that did are being banned. I thought this was America, where we have (supposedly) the freedom of speech! Uh oh, I better watch it--I just got paid and I don't want them coming back and taking my earnings!

Interesting idea but I don;t think Mylot actually cares whether or not they delete a discussion. After all , it's served it's purpose ( getting adds flashed before you while you posted )& saves them money by being deleted. I couldn't venture a guess how to correct the problem.

I agree with you whole heartingly however I don't have but maybe one suggestion which is ALL of us send an email to mylot associates and tell them how we feel about this and how it needs to be changed, otherwise, it's going to keep going like it is. Mylot Associates should already know this but if we band together and let them know how we feel then maybe we'll get some where but we HAVE to band together.

I don’t understand the system very well. I get the guidelines and what they mean but the fact that these trolls have such power is beyond me. Are you telling me that one person can report a discussion and have it deleted just like that even though it hasn’t broken any guidelines? Does that mean that Admin is so busy that it just presses the delete button without checking first? Constant unfair deletions lead to unfair membership bans and that is so not fair! Why oh why stop posting privileges of long standing members who have posted here with their heart? Your discussion sparked a clue as to who it is that I have been missing lately. Not fair, I doubt it’s just a technical hitch. BTW, I didn’t even know there was a rumour that we may stop getting paid!

I can't believe they have done this to this person, surely this individual should be allowed back, there was no wrongdoing!

The rumor was a therory a fella started that says they don't have to pay all those folks (6 pages in the one person's case) who get their responces deleted. I'm not sure how the whole thing works but *shrug* it's just tstupid that such a well liked person can be hunted and removed so easily.

Despite the spammers,I hope mylot will continue for a long time with its existing members. No doubt, this is a good site which pay its members honestly and only the newcomers will be doubtful.Even they will know the truth when they start getting paid.Cheers!

Hello my friend TLChimes Ji, Your discussion is worth considering. All negative approach members would resort to reporting and so on. Reporting should also be healthy one. First let's examine and put in form of discussion. Your suggestion to scrutinise by myLot is also worth considering. May God bless You and have a great time.

Hi TLChimes, I agree with you and I really wonder whose side mylot is on? our old friends, many of them has been banned or left because of the trolls and mylpot is letting the trolls run free, and I don't many discussions myself but responds to all my friend discussions and lately some of my friend's discussions has be deleted, no need for this and I think mylot is not really reading ande seeing what is going on here. wow, great point. We are here to earn money, and not to violate the rules or make people mad. We simply post what we encounter on daily matters, and open the discussions for everyone to comments. We just like regular folks. We all are here to make mylot prosper, instead of making troubles.

I noticed a discussion I was in was pulled but I havn't a clue how, why, or the first thing about it. Do you mean 1 person can just up and have a discussion pulled? That really seems undemocratic. I thought the open discussion format was that so all points of view can be expressed openly for ideas and discussionl I can see if there was vulgarity (but then it should be just the person using it not the whole discussion). Inform me.
