If you delete someone off your friend list....

does it automatically take you off their list too? I was just wondering if anyone knew. I would think that if you deleted someone off your list that it would take you off the other persons list as well but I'm not sure. Do you think it does? If you delete someone off your list do you think it should take you off the other persons too?

HiJen! , I feel that your apprehensions are correct, if you delete someone off from your list of friends, he/she remains no more on your friends list and in his/her list, your name also disappears. If you happen to delete someone's name by mistake, you can always send him/her the request again and when he would check that your name has disappeared from his list, he will add you again. (If you mistakenly delete my name from your list, you can send the request to me, I'll immediately accept it thinking that you did it unintentionally.)

I hope you have got the answer, deletion thing happens at both the ends. It is really great to know that I'll never be deleted from your list, even mistakenly.

Thanks you deepak! No way I'll even mistakenly delete you! I was wondering if you would disappear from their list as well. Thanks for responding.

I believe it does. I've noticed a few people that had been on my friends list that aren't on there anymore. I'm assuming they deleted me as I don't make it a habit to delete people from my friends list. One such person was on the first page of my friends list, but isn't on there anymore. And when I go to their page it says "add as a friend", which leads me to believe that when someone deletes someone off their friends list both parties are no longer on each others list of friends.

Just because someone doesn't respond to your discussions doesn't necessarily mean that they deleted you from their friends list. There could be a number of reasons why they haven't responded to them. But if you think you got deleted from their list and want to be sure you could always search for them, either through other discussions, or by looking them up on your browser. That is, if you know their username. Just type in mylot.com/ and add their username to the end of it.

Heyya sacmom! Thanks for the response. I haven't deleted anyone either but was thinking maybe I had been because I have a lot of friends that aren't active in my discussions ever. I don't mind to much but it did make me think maybe they deleted me and I didn't know it. Take care.

Oh..I know..I usually visit my friends' profile pages once a week to make sure I haven't missed anything with them. There was a period in which I had some deleted accounts on there that I had to erase. I'm not to worried about the responses really..I understand that my discussions may not relate to everyone.

Oh for sure. If you delete someone as your friend then you can't be on their list as then you are still friends with that person. It is only logical but it is good that you asked since you didn't know. I tend to clean up my friends list about every three months and delete the ones that haven't been active. Sometimes I end up deleteing someone that was away for awhile and then came back and asked me to be their friend again. If they stay active I will be friends with them but when some one doesn't log into mylot for three months or more, than I don't need to be friends with them since we don't converse together.

I was wondering about that..I was thinking that maybe a few of my friends had deleted me and I still had their names on my list. Thanks for the response and take care.

I've not yet deleted anyone before, and I don't see the need unless the user gives me unwanted spams throughout, LOL. I tend to always be wanting to see the good in people first and not deleting them for no apparent reason. In my life, I've friends whom I know are not that sincere but I just keep quiet. Because there is this hope that there will change for the better, and who knows. Perhaps I'm too laid-back for my own good.

I like it that you are laid back. I think it's nice to be the kind of friend that people can be themselves in front of and not have to worry about being dropped like a hot potato. I haven't deleted anyone either but I was wondering how it worked. Thanks for the response zed!

Yes it does. I had a rather irksome friend and i can assure you it removes a friends request both ways.

I have not deleted anyone yet so I am not sure. I presume that if one got deleted you would both be off each other’s lists. What I would like to know is; if you deny a friend’s request does the other party get advised that his or her friends request was not approved?

Thanks for that Jen. I wondered what happens. It would be nice to get notified but in some cases that could cause problems because as I have learned here, some people get quite vindictive. What can you do?

Heyya paula! I don't think the person who requested friendship gets notified. I know when I first started..I requested a few friends that did not accept me and all I found was a blank pending friend request page. I was really new so I can understand why they didn't accept me but it would have been nice to get a notification that I was denied. Maybe it was better that way for some people though. Thanks for responding.

I have not try this button before and not very sure how its work. It could be, think so. But why you want to delete your friend's from your list? Are they spamming on you?

hi jenintn, i think if i remove someone from my friend list then it automaticaly occures to that person also. my name will also remove from his/her list. once i deleated a person from my list bcoz he had no activities in mylot without a huge friend list. he was in point 1 one month ago and now too. perhaps you are also added to his friend list. have u ever deleted someone from your friend list?

No..I haven't..not anyone that is active. I did clean up my list when I found there were a lot of accounts that have been deleted. I would go to their profile and it would say account deleted. Thanks for responding.

Hi, i have never deleted others or my friends from my list. So i am not sure whether it will remove us from their list too. I do not delete my friends from my list, just because i think that if i do so, and what if when they know that i've deleted them from my list. I was just afraid that any notification will send to the person to inform him or her, and then he/she will feel sad about it, haha. Anyway, thanks for having this discussion too. I was just wondering about this too. :)

Well of course it should it's like somebody using Myspace, Facebook or even this site to say that once you have confirm to delete someone you have every given right to have that person off your list. For me I would only delete somebody off my list if they start spamming me and I do hate that as a first impression by the way. Earlier some guy asked for a request and I added him. Minutes later, he sends me like a long page getting paid opportunity which of course was a spam message. It irritated me so much I replied to the guy to stop spamming me then I ended up deleting him off my list.

Yes it does, JenInTN. Once I wanted to search for someone in my list who hadn't been around for some time. I wanted to leave comment on her page. But I just couldn't find her in my list. Later I found out that she had deleted me off her list. So, it works bothways.

Hmm..I was wondering. I haven't deleted active friends but I was wondering mostly because I have friends that never respond to my threads. I was thinking maybe they deleted me and I still had them on my friends list. Thanks for responding.

I'm pretty sure it does. Can't be sure, though. I've never questioned it. I did take one person in particular off of my friend's list because she was trying to get me banned from myLot. All I was doing was trying to help her because she asked for help, but she turned on me like a wild animal! Maybe she didn't like the advice I gave her because she was the kind who didn't really want advice, she just wanted attention. But, man, did she ever become vicious! I wrote to myLot admin about her, just to let them know what she was up to because I didn't want to get banned; all I wanted to do was avoid her. But, she kept following me around, writing nasty comments or snide little remarks. So, I deleted her from my friend's list and I didn't hear from her after that. I can only assume that I was off of her friend's list once I deleted her from mine. By the way, she only managed to get herself banned, permanently. I think that was because I wrote to the admin before she got too out of hand. They actually wrote back to me, telling me that they would be "watching" the situation and take appropriate action.

I have heard about people on here that act like that. Thanks goodness I haven't run across any yet. Sometimes people just don't want to hear the truth. I'm glad to hear that myLot takes action against abusers. Thanks for the response.

From then on, he never showed up and I never received notification from him.....

There are different reasons as to why someone might feel like they have to delete someone off their friends page. I haven't done that yet but if I do decide to..I just wanted to know how it worked. Thanks for responding.
