Which career would you take?

You see, I just graduated from nursing. I know I'm going to sound stupid but to be honest, I just studied and graduated from a major that I do not like. It was just like a calling of my "need" and was somehow forced to take it. Like others, I do seek for a greener pasture. The only problem is I really don't want to be a nurse. It's always like a burden for me to go on duty, which I always felt when I was still practicing nursing in college. I never felt excited going to duty. Despite to all these, I just think that I'll be able to earn a lot of money here and my family expects a lot from me with this course. My real passion is designing. I want to study interior designing. I have saved some money here and planning to take some courses of ID. If you were in my shoes, would you continue your career in nursing? Would you go for something you really like or something that would bring you a lot of money?

Like my teacher said a while back, if you don't like your career, pick another one. I'd follow that if I were you, because being uncomfortable with your job adds stress, which could lead to unhealthy results. So pick a career in your interest.

I agree with #3. If money is your concern, then go ahead and be a nurse for a few years. Then just do whatever you want after you've saved enough. You mentioned just having graduated from college, so I assume you're still young, which gives you enough time to jump from nursing to designing..

This situation, I have seen so many times. Follow your heart friend, because even if you force yourself to do things that you don't like, it doesn't have any meaning for you. I know, in any successful career that you want to build it comes from your passion. My mom wanted me to be a teacher, but instead of listening to her I just continue choosing the field that I like, which is engineering. I like designing too. You just show your spirit so that they can see your passion. Good luck!

If money is your concern.I think you could take this job for one or two years, after you have enough money, you can change to whatever you liked. That is what i did.

Me too! I am a nurse, but at first I never wanted to become one. My mom "brainwashed" me.. BUt I learned to love it, because I had to, and I had no choice. My parents told me to take my mom's advice or there's no college for me (ouch, too harsh)..I know he didn't mean it, but obeyed them anyway. Now I am working as a volunteer in one of the hospitals in our place, and I am happy with what I am doing.

Well your problem isn't that hard. First you've gradated with Nursing do you wouldn't be continuing your education at all. When i mean continuing I mean further educating yourself in the field as it progresses through time. If you don't like what you do are you considered a CNA or a RNA? The reason why I ask because these two nursing jobs have two different types of work. CNA may break your back, RNA may make your pockets really full of money. Now if you enjoy another field and you haven't stepped into a high level in your field then go into interior design. The reason why I say if your not in high level in your field is because you can start now without taking much of an economic loss. Life is short and not very long at times. So you must remember to take advantage of the choice you've made. If you don't enjoy it, you must figure a way to enjoy it. Because if you have a child one day you'll realize there are things you wish you didn't HAVE TO DO RIGHT AWAY. Learning again maybe 3-4 years in a new field is going to prolong your future. Futures like retirement, longer vacation pay, increase in salary, starting a family.... So weight your options after changing your mind at such a later time in life. I know its "sucks" to have to figure it out at a older age, but it is better to make these decisions and figure out better solutions for it. You may not need to relearn a new skill and just figure out how to enjoy the current one. God bless
