Hi im looking for a free or cheap online game for my nine year old daughter. A game where she has to look after a pet or a virtual human character. Kind of like a online cyber pet. We did try habbo hotel and neopets but she found them a little complicated. I want to use it as a reward if she is good at school. If anyone knows of some games can you please just give me the site name as i dont think we are allowed to post links here. Or if you have a referral link then please add me as a friend and then email me the link thanks. Please the site must be for children. Thanks.

I've heard a lot about Sony's new online game, Free Realms... they are tailoring it toward the younger crowd, and so far they have it: 75% of the players are under 17 and 46% are under 13. 1/3 of them are female. I haven't tried it myself so I don't know how "complex" it is, but for any younger person looking for a free, quality online game, I'd recommend it.
They have a heavy focus on pets, as well, which appeals to most kids. :)

Have you tried Webkinz? You buy the webkinz pet in the store and then it comes with a code to sign up online. It is free for a year and then if you want to keep going with that pet you do have to pay but I don't it was too expensive. Or you can just buy another pet and do another free year with a different pet. My daughter did it two years ago. It was a little tricky for her but she was only 4. Your daughter shouldn't have trouble with it. They have some cute games to play to earn coins for your webkinz to buy them food or stuff to decorate their house. You can add rooms to the house and decorate each one and they have a yard that you can add stuff to also. It is pretty cute.

Realistic dog or cat to take care of. You can have it linked to facebook or make it into a widget to put on any page. The pet grows up in real time. You can play with it and it looks very realistic. Good for any child to learn a responsibility while having fun doing it.
