I have plenty of limes at home and as I keep mentioning it is so hot. The rest of the Island is getting rain but we have none in my part of the forest. No rain at all. So when I leave work, I am going home to make a huge jug of old fashioned lemonade only I am making it with limes instead of lemons. There are lemon trees on he Island but none near me. So I will drink my hot tea if I feel for it, or drink ice cold lemonade. Do you still make lemonade or do you buy it from a store?

We buy ours. Actually most likely we'll buy the powdered lemonade, like kool aid flavored lemonade. I did have fresh lemonade at the fair, we get that every year. I've just never had the energy to attempt to make it myself.

Try adding a few tangerines to the lime juice next time.

Someday... maybe when the kids are older and I have more time on my hands. I bet that squeezing the lemons or limes is a good stress reliver though. Have you ever tried to use both lemons and limes?

The limes are very small and it does take time to juice them but it does taste so good

I love lemons & limes. I DON'T MAKE IT MUCH BUT I USE THEM BOTH IN MY ICE TEA. I wish they grew here but am afraid they don't. I think that would be really neat to be able to go out & pick your own lemons. They are pretty expensive here. For awhile limes were cheaper but they aren't anymore, they are both high, i think.

If you go online then you can see pictures of a breadfruit. It is a large starchy fruit that can be roasted or baked in the oven, peeled and boiled or my favourite way is to cut off one end (like a PUMPKIN) and scrape out the seeds inside and stuff the cavity with any lind of brownerd cubed meat, ceggies and gravy. Secure the cut part back on and bake in the oven. A favourite way that is adored by children is to fry it in thin slices when it is cool. The colour is white - rather like cold white potatoes. In fact, when it is cooked it is cubed and a breadfruit sald is made in the same way as you would make a potatoe salad. If you have a breadfruit tree then it is considered a great blessing as ther is always soemthing for everyone to eat. I hope this explanation helps.

My neighbours have so many limes that they are falling off the trees. Most people share them where I live. In fact we share so much. My breadfruit tree will be ready in about 6 weeks and I will give to my neighbours too. I also love iced tea as it is very refreshing

We don't have it very often, but when we do I make it. My son loves fresh homemade lemonade. There is this one place we go to that makes their lemonade fresh several times a day. He always wants it when we go there. Sometimes when you go in there you can actually watch them make it. They have a huge bucket of lemons they just cut in half and squeeze. It is 1 part lemon juice to 2 parts water. Then the sugar. I am not sure how much sugar though. Lime-ade sounds good too. I might have to try that sometime.

Hi Cynthian . Lemonades are heavenly and works wonders when its hot. A friend of mine got quite a few lemons for me maybe two years ago and I have been ubable to get anymore since. I have lime trees here at home so that is great. They are no fruits on the trees now but we got some from a negihbour. The weather is such a funny part of nature.... I thought we were having showers of rain Islandwide. Take care

Freshly squeezed lemonade is great, but as we don't drink it that much around here, we usually buy it in a bottle. Lol, like I said though we don't drink it that much. I've had, Lime lemonade drink before, and lol not just the soda's. I used to be friends with a hispance to whom I would drink flavored Waters they made with. The water was good, some made with things you wouldn't think it would be made with.

Yes and soda's aren't healthy. Kool Aid I think is mine and my fiance's favorite substitute to just plain water. We've tried it with lemon (light) but it wasn't that good.

I love fresh lemonade. I have not had any in a very long time though. I have bought some in the past but it is just not as good as the fresh squeezed kind that we can make ourselves.

We do both. Mostly I will buy it from the store though. My daughter has been wanting to have a lemonade stand outside to sell some lemonade. I told her when it gets hotter out we will.

we don't grow locally lemons and it is generally expensive to buy lemons here since they are coming from other countries and imported into our country.but 2 days back one local supermarket have it sold in affordable price. it is about $1 for 4 lemons. and though mostly they are just medium sized lemons there were some bigger lemons among the those lemons. i just chose the big ones and so got a very good deal. mostly on other local supermarkets. it will be sold for about $2 for 4 small lemons. but mine $1 only for 4 big ones or almost twice the size sold in other stores. and so i was mixing powder lemonade powder with real lemon in a glass of water. and it tastes great. i don't know if this is the same lemonade that you have in the states. we don't have lemonade stands here or do people make their own lemonade. i just do it sometimes when i feel like drinking more natural juice instead of powder juices.

I don't live in the Statres - but in the Caribbean. We mostly have limes instead of lemons but lemons are grown here too. Many people have a lime tree in their garden as well as a vegetable garden. We don't have lemonade stand here either but I have seen it in the States when visiting

The only time I get fresh lemonade is when we go to the county fair. There is a vendor that sells it. It's delicious! But normally we use a mix or maybe buy some frozen. Citrus fruit is seasonal for us here in Michigan. Oranges are fairly inexpensive but lemons and limes can be costly so, I have never made fresh myself. Sounds good right now though!
