I was wondering how many people here on myLot have been to a casino before. I was also wondering if you went to gamble? I have been to a few casinos..with my grandmother in Las Vegas..with my b/f on a gambleing boat in Indiana...and to the Indian reservation in North Carolina. When I went to Vegas...I didn't gamble...that would be my grandmother..LOL..I just went to sight see. The others though..well..I played a few slots and a little blackjack. So have you ever been to a casino before? Got any good stories about your trip?

I came through Reno on a bicycle trip and some friends brought me to the casino for the smorgasbord. They figured I was hungry. Food was terrific. While waiting for seats I pulled out fifty cents and said I was going to keep putting it in the TV poker game until I either lost it or our table was ready. I walked away with a dollar. Doubled my money. What do you think? Was that the beginning of a career I passed up?

No, I've never been to a casino. I'm really not much of a gambler, which is probably why I'm not very interested in going to one. I may go to one, some day, but right now, it's not really something that I want to do.

I'm not either jo. I did enjot seeing the sights though. They really go all out at those casinos. I have a friend that travels to Tunaka alot but I have never been there. I like going to the Indian reservation in NC. It's about an hour and 1/2 away from me if that. They have the Indians doing shows and crafts. The casino is just another thing to see there. It's not regulated like other casinos there so if I were a gambler..I would have little chance of winning. Thanks for responding.

Once I went to a Casino in California, and It was a Indian Resavation, I took out my Camera and it was so many Sec. Guards all around me, I didn't know that you couldn't take pictures there, this was about 10 or 11 years ago, the rules might of changed I don't know. It was funny. They had threasted to take my Camera.

I have been to casinos many times in my life, when I was small we went almost every other month, my Dad loved to gamble and at that time children were entertained at the swimming pool or on horses. Both my brother and I loved that and stayed out of my Dad's hair.

Hi savypat! I have thought about taking my kids on a trip to Vegas with me but I was afraid they would be bored. I guess there is a lot for them to do there too. If you stayed in a place like Circus Circus..thay would probably love it. Thanks for responding.

I have worked at a place called the Mountaineer race track where you can gamble. But I don't gamble. I think gambling makes you lose way to much money they you need. I made a bet one time on a horse and won a little bit of money but after that I never did it again. Gambling just wasn't my thing.

It is scary to gamble sometimes. Especially if it's for a lot of money. No way I'm a big gambler either. Thanks for the reponse.

I know a guy that had a business and he would travel to Vegas all the time and gamble big time. Guess what happened? He lost his home and his business and he is getting sued. Gambling doesn't pay off but kills everything you got or own. Hes a good example.

"Place your bet now!" Good Luck...lol familiar with this words. Casino is a great place to get some entertainment, relax and having fun. I've been to Genting a few times with my family's, I don't think that is a fair game. They have a very good system that prevent someone from winning. Eye Yo! Slots machine, we name it suck money machine...lol they only pay when it suck enough money from someone else. 100$ in 30$ out the most, so, everyone need to contribute. Hahaha....just kidding. Have fun!

Hi Hvaniday! It is true..they don't hit until they get so much. I know that alot of places here are regulated by a group..and the slots must hit a certain amount of times. If they are caught with "tight" slots..they get a fine or something. I do like going. There is no regulation at the Indian reservation I was talking about though. You just go there to give them your money...lol

I've been to Vegas and Atlantic City. At Atlantic City my sister's partner gave us each $20 to lose on the penny slots, and we lost it, but by the end of the week, she had won it all back. I wrote about my trip in a string of discussions called Travels with my bother (I mean brother). http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1179287.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1180329.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1189471.aspx http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1189698.aspx

Hi Jen! Yes, I've been to a casino before, but I didn't go to gamble as I was too young at the time! LOL However, I've been to a few in Tahoe and one or 2 in Vegas. Can you believe I've never gambled in a casino before? And here I'm the same age as you...almost! LOL

A true casino, no. I have been to those aboard cruise ships and I do not like the smoky atmosphere. The clattering of the tokens is the sound I love though. lol. I guess all casinos should be offering the same types of games. The difference is the service level and the types of customers.

Yes..that can make a difference. I like the way the tokens sound too...funny though..last time I was in Vegas there were no more tokens..the machine give you a slip of paper and you had to cash it in at the cashiers office. The machine still made a sound though..lol..Thanks for the input.

yes I have. I like the slot machines and seem to be lucky at them. I have story you may like. When they first opened the Casinos in Atlantic City my brother was working for a state employment agency. One of his jobs was go to the casinos and see how the workers were doing. I was visiting my mother that day so my brother asked if I and mom would like to take a ride? Of Course we said yes. When we got to the casino while he was talking to the bosses I looked around. It was very nice but there were not to many people there. I thought about it and said to myself, well are you going to just walk around? Why not play something? So being a big spender from the east I took 3 quarts and put them in the slots. My brother saw me and when he stopped laughing he said it was good thing I did not win. The casino would have gone broke.

Sure I have. I have been to several. I love Las Vegas, it is one of my favorite places to visit, and I have been there 4 times, so I of course have been to a lot of casinos while I was there. We also have a river boat casino about 30 minutes from where I live, I have not been there in a few years, but I have been there about 10 times in the last 15 years since it opened. Last time I was in Las Vegas I won $600 dollars playing 3 card poker, it was very exciting.

No, I've never gone to a Casino, and truthfully, do not feel compelled to do so. I see and hear about too many people throwing their last dime away gambling, spending on "luck", that may never happen. It's a sad thing for those who are capable of becoming compulsive gamblers.

I have been a few times. All I ever did was play the quarter slots. The first time I made about $20 and the second time I lost about that much. I was up quite a bit at one point my first time, but ended up feeding it all back into the machine.

The first time I went to a casino was in Vegas. I stayed at the Hilton in order to be near the spirit of my hero, Elvis, as that was the casino resort he performed in so many times in the period from 1969 to 1977. I gambled there my first night on the video poker machines and really enjoyed it. Lost all my money though!!

Yes, I have. I went to Elko,NV for my honeymoon. We won't go there. My ex- and I went to Reno for his sisters wedding. It was great! We gambled, went to this lovely smorgasboard, went to a relatives show. {I am not a name dropper] Have been to Las Vegas too. Mostly just drove through but we did stop for alittle while once. The sunrises were amazing. We also stopped in a bar on the coast one time and gambled. Can't remember where it was. All fun. I never went broke. Wish I could say the same thing for the men I was with.

Well, since I live in Las Vegas my answer is YES. But I don't go to the casinos that much anymore, we usually go to the bar near our house on the weekends to play nickels. They have machines at the bars and grocery stores too. It's more quiet at the bar then the crowded casinos. And I won yesterday

I visited Las Vagas two times. The first time there, I cannot help trying the slotting machines, and the result is nearly balance. For the limited time I missed the grand buildings, shows and the night neons, which I was fortunate to make up the second time there. For ordinary visitors, I highly recommend that focus on the constructions and activities, instead of the gambling, which should take a very little portion of your precious time.

I agree. I had a better time with things other than the gambling. I don't think anyone can see all that there is to see there without staying for a while or making several trips. I hope to go back soon. Thanks for responding.
