Which Vegetables Have The Most Fiber?

Last week I was having an "annoying little problem" that comes with not eating enough fiber, if you get my drift. I guess my diet had been a little off for a few days, and I ended up paying for it by being wide awake and uncomfortable at 2 AM. I understand vegetables have a lot of fiber in them, and solve the problem easily. Which vegetables have the most fiber, and are best for fixing irregularity?

It isn't just vegetables that are high in fiber, grains and fruit are good sources as is psyllum. Apples are very good at helping that intestinal complaint of yours as are prunes, papayas and even figs. Pineapple has an enzyme called bromelain which, among other things, is good for digestion.
The reason having fiber is important is that it cleans your body from the inside out but fiber alone will not do the trick. You have to be sure to have at least 3 or more glasses of water every day. This is important not only to stay regular but to avoid being uncomfortable while sitting.

My mamang eats raw peanuts, especially those not shelled yet and recently dug. Most of us in the family not eat sweet potatoes. We call that kamote in the Philippines. It's rich in fiber. We eat that as a substitute for rice. It lowers hypertension, cholesterol and blood sugar level when eaten as substitute for rice.

sorry "not eat sweet potatoes" should read as "now eat sweet potatoes." I apologize for the error.

If you bought some cans of Garbanzo beans, also known as Chick Peas, they have lots of fiber in them. Put them in salads, or as a side dish, or mash in a blender with some spices that you like, and you'll be alright. I also enjoy kidney beans and black beans, but make sure there's a fan handy, lol.

Pretty much all vegetables do, in their fresh state. When you read the food labels, they are for individual serving do the numbers are rounded down because they are so low. Two servings may equal almost one gram fiber. If you are concerned about adding more fiber, eat fresh fruits and vegetables, rather than processed.

Vegetables that have the most fiber content are those green leafy vegetables like kangkong, pechay, malunggay, alugbati among others. Fibers act as "brooms" inside our body to eliminate waste materials and cleanse our digestive tract. There are two types of fibers, insoluble and soluble but the most effective cleanser is the insoluble which includes green leafy vegetables. Try it, to have a proper waste disposal. Good luck!

Hi danish...I'm sure there are lots of sites for looking up vegetables with fiber in them but I don't know of any off the top of my head. I suggest you surf the net. However I have used fruits to solve my problems in the past if you like fruits - apples have a lot of fiber in them...maybe that's why they say to have an apple a day? I would also eat grapes and prunes and that would fix me quickly! I hope your problem goes away soon - it must have been awful to be up in the middle of the night and be uncomfortable like that. Get well!

Hi there, I think the broccoli and celery has the most! Are you on a fiber diet or something? Taking full fiber diet is not really healthy. Take in some protien as well. You need to take the most needed for your health and one more make sure you have got a doctor's advose before you start all this diets!

I think greens are very high in fiber. Vegetable juice is also high in fiber. you could try those out and see if that helps with regularity. I love green beans and corn the most though.

I'd go for Broccoli too. It is just so delicious and I could just mix and match this particular veggie with all sorts of dishes and gravy too. I can eat Broccoli aplenty and still not get tired of it. And you can even just boil it and eat this veggie with eggs, chicken soup, fish soup and many more. I just love it, truly. And I think the nutritional value and fiber is pretty high. Stock up on Broccoli..
