I used to go to libraries quite often before to find information and references needed for my research projects. I still do go to libraries, but not as often as before, because internet has become a very helpful way to find the information right online and very fast too. Internet has become part of my professional tools , amazing !
Do you go to libraries often ? For what purpose do you go libraries ?

I love the library. The internet while informative will never be able to completely replace the feeling of a library. The ink and pages in your hand in such a quiet and peaceful place, definitely helps one study. Also I feel that there is a lot of information out there on the internet, it's often hard to find sources to facts or quotes, there simply is no librarian to guide you! How many people believe you when you state a fact you found on the internet? Now compare it to how many people will believe you when you can hand them a book.

Hello greenline , I uised to go to the library when I was in school and college. I haven't been to the library for around 9 years. Last time was to use one of their computers during a trip back to my home town and now I take my laptop when I travel. I have thought about checking to see what kind of movies they carry but I have yet to go and find out for myself.

You are right. Much information can be obtained through the Internet. But you still need the library to find information that does not exist on the internet, such as the biography of a figure who is not famous, ancient letters, etc..

I go to my local libray every week and get around 10 to 20 different books. Some are novels and others are non-fiction. My mum used to be a librarian before she retired. That was useful for my student days when I had all those books listed. One day it was rainy and it was fun to visit three different libraries in my local area.

Yes I go to the library all the time either to use the internet to get movies and books or just to be in a quiet relaxing atmosphere.

Same her. I used to go to library when I was still a student. I don't go there any longer. You know, lots of work and the deadline. I also use the internet to find the information without having to go out from the office or home. Internet has really changed the way we do lots of things. Anyway I still remember the good old days when I enjoyed my time reading in the library. It was quiet and I think that it was also peaceful.

Well,Library is the best teacher.I like library especially the atmosphere of it.I feel so quiet. But the number of books of my school's branch library in my campus is too small. So I don't go there typically.I often search the Internet to collect the material what I want.

I don't often go to libraries unless I have to get some information that I cannot find.

I used to go to the library relatively often for leisure reading. However, due to Christmas, birthdays, and cheap book sales, I have so many books at home to read that I don't need to go very often at all. I also used to go for the books sales. You could get 10 books for $1, which was awesome. They've stopped doing that though. I generally only go to the library once or twice a month now, if my printer is broken and I need to use their computers or if there's a specific book that I don't want to buy.
I'm not in school so I don't need to do research. When I was in college, I still did most of my research online, not at the library.

I use to love to read and go to libraries alot. Ever since I had my son though its became hard. I hardly have time to read. Between work and being a mother its tough. I have three books that i never read that were due last friday. I hope to get them back today. That library though is out of my way.

Yes I do. I visit library frequently. Until few days ago i used to go there almost every next day. I just love books. There are so many great novels and i never get tired of reading them. These days, however, my holidays are coming to end so i can't spend much time on extra books. So i visit there once a week or so.
Library is a great place. I love being surrounded by all those tall things full of books. Besides novels there are biographies, magazines and volumes of encyclopedia etc. But because the library is at a distance and because i am getting a little busy these days, i tried to find books on net. I got thousands of free e-books but non of them were among the ones i needed.
Its been 4 days since i last visited library and was hoping to go there today but unfortunately there is strike today so big stores and libraries are closed. If there was no internet i would have gone mad cause of boredom.

I used to go to the libraries as well during my high school and college days. This is where I always turn to in case I need something to research. But now, I rely on the internet for any information I would like to know. I no longer visit any libraries.

internet i think is very useful tool in our moden life. we can check out something in our home or some other places as long as you can net.but i think go to libraries are another way to get information. at the same time , the ray of display is harmful to our eyes.
