Final Fantasy XIV-Buying the game for the system? Or is it the other way around?

So I am a HUGE video game fanatic- and an even BIGGER video game fanatic when it comes to Square Enix's Final Fantasy series. My discussion is simply a few questions that I need answered. These responses will help me make a decision later on in the year about whether or not I should buy a PS3. My questions are: Do you plan on playing Final Fantasy XIV on the PS3? If so, are you buying the PS3 SOLELY for thsi game? Or do you already own one? If you plan on buying a PS3 solely for this game, Why? I have yet to own a PS3 but FFXIV seems to promise me that the PS3 is worth it and that this game looks like the BEST MMORPG EVER! Thanks for the responses in advance. -Cactusman

well there's more reason to buy a ps3 other thAN The legendary ff series, like there's tekken, resident evil, metal gear solid series, star ocean 4! yes it's comin to ps3, nba, fyt nyt, etc etc... and last but not d least ff versus 13 n ff 14 mmorpg!... i for one would buy a ps3 slim hopefully this holiday season! ;) online friends here i come!

Hi i love final fantasy games too; and i also dont have a ps3 and wont be buying one either. this is becuase it should be coming out on xbox360 which in my belief is a superior console althought thats your decision. the other good thing about the 360 is that its cheaper as you can add features like wireless at a additional cost unlike the ps3 in which all features are already on it which justifys the price. although you do pay for online on the 360 although its maintained really well unlike the ps3 :-) Anyway back to final fantasy it should be really good the story is intense. while you wait i would recommend you get crisis core on the psp that is really good and you gotta love the classic ps1 ff games. theres also a movie which adds onto crisis core called The advent children which is staged after event in cc. All in all its proberly worth buying a console for the game as there are plenty of other good games atm which are worth playin try mass effect and oblivion as good rpg's. hope this helped

The FF games are quite popular and no, I don't own a PS3 either. Mind you, it took me ages to get a PSII, I never got a PSI though. So they're up to FFIV now huh? The last FF game I played was FFX, and part way through FFX-2. It is a good RPG series, but I don't think I'll be getting a PS3 just for the game. Well maybe at some later stage when both become cheaper.. hehehehehe
