Care to guess how high they are going this year. I just don't understand how the gas companies can make such outrageous profit and we have to bear the cost. You'd think some one would create a virgin oil company, just like virgin airlines.

I really hate gas prices. I remember when they were under a buck fifty thats when I first thought about driving. Now its rising to 3 bucks. In my town I think the highest will be $3.29 for regular. It really is ridiculous we have to bear the burden of the prices. Thats a great idea someone really need to come up with a virgin oil company. Better yet the United States need to start using their own oil and get with the program. Stop making us miserable and suffer. What happen to We the People....?

I think we may find that to develop our own oil will be much more costly. Thanks

Have you noticed that the roll back never goes as low as it was and the high is always higher. Thanks

On the one hand I'm grateful that we aren't paying the kind of gas prices that they do in Europe, but on the other hand, yep, it hurts when prices go up like that. I think it's partly gouging and partly taxes, but there's also the reality that we're dealing with a finite supply of oil. We're not in any danger of running out in our lives, from what I've read, but sometime. We really, really need to work harder at developing alternatives now.

We need to slow down, not drive so much or fly so much, do you know how much gas the jets take? A lot. We need to take the train. Thanks

Here in Southern California, gas is now at about $3.00 per gallon. It is ridiculous that everything in California is going up and up and salaries are not going up. We have almost the highest taxes of any state in the US and they want to raise our taxes higher. Pretty soon everything we make will go to taxes. It is pathetic. Our taxes go to pay a lot for social services for people who mooch off the taxpayers and government. They also go towards paying unions and their pseudo-mafia tactics. We are really stuck between a rock and a hard spot here. Soon there will only be two classes, the rich and the poor; no more middle class. The taxes and high prices are eating the middle class alive. It really stinks. We are no longer a democracy but a socialist state. There is hardly any hope of moving, with inability to leave family ties, the cost of moving and the cost of relocating and finding a new job. It really does not offer you many choices and it sure makes life difficult and depressing.

I'm so sorry that you are caught in California, if nothing else remember hat things do change and a few years from now the State may be in wonderful shape again. Just look at Texas it took about 30 years to recover but it's going strong now. All you have to do is hang on for 30 years. I hope it's much shorter for you. California is a beautiful state.

Hi savypat, I was discussing gas prices yesterday with my b/f.We were thinking the gas prices were going to be up to $3 soon. Right now gas was $2.67 a gallon and had to fill up the tank. So glad we got a smaller car.I'm trying to do my part so the oil companies don't get billions every quarter like they do now.

Hi savypat, Yes, here we go again with this price increase. I wish so badly that people would stay home this summer and not take a vacation, instead more money will be lining the pockets of the greedy again. I'll tell you what really ticks me off is on the news, when they always bring up the price of gas "1 year ago today", ARG-G-G-G! Why don't they bring up what the price was 10 years ago when it was around 77 cents! Heaven forbid the news people should remind us how great we once had it. Thanks for letting me blow off steam, lol.

One does at times wonder how much responsibility the Press has in the situations we are in now. Before we had instant news bad things didn't seem to spread as fast. Thanks

I don't even want to think about it. I'm sure by the end of the summer the prices will be up a couple dollars more than they already are.

Our government wants us to conserve so they allow it. I feel like all their views are being forced on me. Like it or not things will go their way. Not happy at all about the prices!
