hello mylotters!
is it okay to take a bath even if we're sick? like having a flu or colds?
me, sometimes i don't take a bath when i have flu or colds coz i feel that it will just worsen my condition, and i sometimes chill...but sometimes i still take a bath if i can manage...
but even if i don't take a bath on those days..i see to it that i still clean up my self...
how about you? do you still take a bath even if you have flu or colds or any sickness?
thanks and have a nice day!

Yup, no matter what, i must take a shower everyday without fail.. haha =D If not, i will feel very uncomfortable.. Even when i have colds or flus, i will stil take cold shower so that i will feel warmer after that, due to the difference in room temperature and the cold shower.. haha =D
However, my mom told me it's better not to shower when having colds, because one can worsen the existing condition.. haha =D But still, i dun really care.. hehe ^_^

okay...yes its true it really better and more comfortable to take a bath always! i bet you are also always smelling good!
but anyway, i think somehow, sometimes we should follow what our mothers are saying...as they say..."mother knows best"
but if taking a bath will make you feel better even you have flu or colds...then mothers sometimes did not know best? hehehe...
have a nice day! :-)

I'm a firm believer in the fact that a hot bath can cure anything. My bath time is my cure-all. I go in with candles, incence, a snack, a pop, music, smokes, a book etc... No matter what the problem is; an hour relaxing in the tub is gonna fix it. Or at least make me feel better about the whole situation.

I always take a shower. Every day even if I am really sick.
I have too. my skin is weird and i can't just stand to go without a shower.
taking a shower when i'm usually makes me feel better anyway.
if i am able to just sleep i might be able to get away without taking a shower but i i'm up then i'll get to the point where i'll sit and shower if i have too lol

For precautions purposes. I avoid taking a bath when I have cold and fever. My mother always say that it is bad and can worsen the condition, it might lead into some complication so I listened to my mother and never take a shower when I am having a flu. It is better safe than sorry.

It is always good to take a bath. But yeah, particularly when your body temperature is disturbed, you should take care and not take a bath.
But, not taking bath doesn't mean you shouldn't clean yourself. We should be hygienic, and clean ourself by using a cloth dipped in hot water (during cold) and vice versa...

Yes, I take a bath even if I had fever. I even go to school even when I'm sick. So far, taking a bath hasn't make me more ill. During fever, my body feels warm so I take a bath to cool it and lessen body heat loss. But I don't know if it's really good to take a bath. Maybe it would also depend to the individual's body.

Actually taking a nice warm bath or shower is wonderful when you are sick. It helps clean up the germs and the steam from the water can help to clear up the sinuses, and it also helps to soothe and relax the muscles. I love taking baths and showers when I am sick, I always feel a little better after I do.

I think that when you have a cold or the flu you should still take a bath but keep mind to have the temperature of the bath or shower so that you feel comfortable. Also be sure to dry off well and get under a blanket etc if you are still chilled. I take baths even when I am feeling sick.

If I'm feeling sick and having cold I don't take a bath.
Instead I take a rest by sleeping. My mother will be angry
If I will take a bath even If I only had a mild cold or fever.

Actually a warm or hot bath does you a lot of good when you're sick, especially if you can go to bed and rest afterwards. My mother always insisted on giving us baths when we were little and were sick. I still take a bath or shower when I'm sick, unless I am too weak to make the effort.

yes its true...not taking a bath makes us feel more lazy...at least on my case. i notice that if i don't take a bath my body become heavier and feels lazier! huh! and after having a bath...wow feels like i'm recharged and energetic...
but sometimes, especially when i'm sick i feel like very lazy and my body is heavy, i can't move well that's why even taking a bath...i miss to do!

for some odd reason, I actually feel better after taking a bath when I'm sick. i understand that it's a bit hard cause we're weak and cold from the flu, but I dont know if it's just me, but it makes me feel a whole lot better and more normal in a way.

yes i do take bath when i am sick or not feeling well.....because if we don't take bath then our body becomes dirty and it acts as a breeding ground for the germs.....but my mom tells me not to put water on my head as if i don't dry it then the fever can increase....but sometimes when i don't take bath at that time my mother takes a towel and soaks it in warm water and just cleans my body..........this really helps me and i get a nice sleep as the body feels relaxed..........

I always take a bath even if I have cold and cough but if I going to have a fever I think it is not good to take a bath. Sponge bath is advisable if you have fever. If I have only cold or cough I prefer to take a bath it makes me feel better afterwards. If you want to take a bath even if you have flu I think lukewarm bath is good.

I read from some article that it's ok to take a bath when you have fever. This can help control the temperature. But, as far as I can remember, you can do this only when you're temperature's not so high. But, of course, if the person is chilling, maybe, it's not fine to have a bath. It's not even good to have a warm bath. So, cleaning oneself with wet face towel will do.

I always take a shower even if I am sick. I don't really see how it'll make you even more sick as long as you're under warm water. I guess if you're having a really high fever then it would not be a good idea to take a bath, but otherwise I think it's perfectly fine to take one. Hygiene is important, especially when you're sick so as to not get even more germs, so taking a shower is definitely a good idea in my book.

Sometimes I have found that having a nice warm bath has made me feel much better if I've got a cold, particularly if the bathroom is warm and you go straight to another warm room.

if i only have coughs and colds and no fever, i'll still be taking a bath... i make it really quick, and then afetrwards, i would put on liniment oil on my chest, and have another one rub it on my back... then in the evening i will have it rubbed on my feet and then put socks on.
but if i have fever, i dont take a bath just to be safe. i just wash face, use hand towel to clean my other parts of the body, especially if fever is already three days...

hi jayrene, i also do those things...i think if a fever is already 3 days and your temperature is still high, i think its better to have a check up with a doctor...its the safest thing to do since flu virus & dengue is associated with fever that last long...
thanks...:-)

Yes i do, i take a bath even when i have cold or sick or fever just because i dont want to make any bad smells for everyone in my house. I took hot water for take a bath not cold water because it just can make our disease went worse. So enjoy taking a bath even if you have a disease.
