I really need some help here, a friend recently came to me and basically confided that she and her husband were having problems and that he even mentioned divorce. So she wants my advise on whether trying to get pregnant might save her relationship. I was shocked would people actually go so far as to bring a child into a broken relationship, so I told her let me think about it and get back to you. It has been two weeks and I still have not called her back. So I need about advise. What do I say to her?.

A baby is not like superglue - it cannot repair what is already broken or damaged, as this relationship obviously is. Parenthood is a privilege and a responsibility, and it should not be undertaken unless the couple concerned are both ready to become a family. In this situation, this is clearly not the case. A child deserves to be brought up by two loving parents. If the marriage fails, the child may even believe it is somehow his or her fault. Tell your friend she needs to grow up herself before she considers having a baby.

A baby will not save a marriage, bringing a baby into a troubled relationship is only going to result in the wife, husband and then the child being hurt from the failed marriage in the end. What do you say to her, ask her how she feels about being a single mom. Children are such a blessing, such a wonderful thing to have in your life, but they are stressful, they cause fights, arguments in a marriage, and they cause stress on the marriage as well.

Pregnancy can be stressful in a rocky relationship. I know one lady that got pregnant to try to save her marriage and her husband had just left her at 34 weeks pregnancy. Having a new baby can place strain on a relationship if it is not rock solid. It would be more likely to break a relationship than to make it secure. Your friend might become a single mother if her relationship breaks down during the pregnancy. Good communication is important in a relationship. I think that you should stay gently to your friend to discuss her feelings with her husband.
