Night here comes at 7 pm. What time does it get dark where you live?

In the summer time, growing up in the U.K. it would often stay light until after 9 pm in the summer time. I hated it asd I was put to bed whilst it was light.
In the winter we get dark at 6pm where I live but in the summer we have light until 7pm. I don't miss the long light evenings as we live in a hot sunny climate and it is good to have cool evenings. Another advantage was that my children went to bed when it wa dark not light.
What time does it get dark where you live and are you happy about the extra daylight?

Let's see in the summer time it gets dark about 9 PM. Other times of the year it gets dark around 6 PM. Yes I am happy about the extra daylight, I use daylight as a light source whilst on the computer and also I just like natural light more, oh and the feel of it on yoru skin, I love that!

I can understand this as you probably live where it is cold in the winter. When the summer ocmes then you appreciate the daylight hours so very much. But where I live in hot all the year round - just the daylight cvhanges in the summer. We don't do daylight saving time on our Island and it only really gets cool when it is dark. I sit out a lot on the patio when it is dark and enjoy the cool breeze.

It is summer time here in Texas. And it gets dark around 8:30 now. I don't think too much of the day light savings time. I think it was better off, leaving the time alone, the way it was.

You know, i have not seen yet, where we had any extra daylight from that "day light saving" thing. Same amount of day light, and same amount of dark, just something extra to deal with, is all i see to it.

I remember when they introduced daylight saving time in the U.K. - I was a young person and it caused so much fuss especially witht he farmers. We do not have it where I live in the Caribbean. enjoy your extra daylight though. Blessings

It is 8:45 pm here right now and it has only started getting dark in the last 30 minutes really. I was just out taking the trash out a little bit ago and it was still light out.
I really don't spend that much time outside for the amount of daylight in a day to matter to me much. My son is enjoying the extra daylight right now because he is on vacation and he gets to swim, kayak, and go tubing longer if it stays light out longer.

children just love the extra daylight. I did as a child. It doesn't matter to me now as I enjoy the coolnes of the evenings and am quite glad on the days that are extra hot for the evening and darkness to come.

I live in Singapore. So it means that I don't get to enjoy seasonal change. We only got rainy season here. Our sunset is about 6.30 - 7pm. I would love to experience the extra daylight. There will be many activities that I can do with my daughters outdoor with the extra daylight.

I can appreciate your wanting the extra hour to do things with your children. Is it very hot now? Singapore is a country which my country speakes so highly of. I wish that we had your discipline and your strong work ethics

O yes, it is very hot in Singapore now! Middle of the year (Apr - Aug) is the sunny season of Singapore. Jun and July are the hottest months. Sometimes I really hate such hot and humid weather. It makes all the freckles coming out from my face and arms. Just a short walk out will make you sweat and smell. Many many times especially when I was a kid, I would wish that Singapore has the 4 seasons. Now, my daughters also keep asking me why Sinapore got no seasonal changes =)

It gets dark here, completely dark around 9:40pm. I noticed because I wanted to wait until dark last night to walk my dog (less heat). The thing I don't like is that the sun comes up too early. It starts coming up around 5:15am, and I like it when the sun rises around 7am. I miss that!

When I first moved here it really got to me that I woke so early in the mornings but now it doesn't bother me at all. Enjoy your long evenings with light. I just love being cool.

It stays light until about 9 PM this time of year. It's noticeably later than in Los Angeles, even though we're only about 400 miles further north. I do like it being light longer but I don't like it in the winter when it's dark longer.

I am from the Philippines and normally it gets dark there around 6:30-7pm during summer and 5:30-6pm starting september till january, I think. I am in Egypt at the moment and it gets dark here around 8:30 or 9pm, I do like the extra daylight, but I'm just a bit mess up adjusting an hour in the time, lol. During winter its get dark here around 6-7pm.

Seeing Egypt must be an experience. My DIL is in Dubai and is planning to visit Egypt with friends. Or at least a small part of it! In the Caribbean we are basically nearer to the Phillipines in terms of when dusk starts

Hey,
Well where I live, in the winter time it gets dark at about 5:30 PM which is really quite early, it gets dark like as soon as I come home. In summer time, it starts to get dark at about 9:00 PM so the people who want to go to bed early, can't because it is still sunny outside. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

I am sure that you enjoy the long summer evenings. It is so hot where I live that I do not want to leave my office - but frequently have to. I've been to a number of states but regretfully, have not been to Texas.

In Indonesia, it's usually start to go darker since 5 pm, and at 6 it is totally dark. I found out when travel to London, I'm having such a bizzare day. I went there at September there last year and it's still bright at 6 pm, and then dark at 7-8 pm. I also found the climate weird, sometimes it's just raining, but not heavy rain always light rain, which I kinda feel annoying because it can happens all day long. Sometimes after rain, it's bright again and not cloudy..

I was from the U.K. and the weather is always totally unpredictable. We always carried an umbrella in case it rained! They do get longer summer days there than where I live though

That is not so different from us here in JA. By the way, I kid you not, I fell in love with Sparrow when I was 13 and I did not meet hiom until I was in my early 40's. When I met him I was tongue tied.completely overwhelmed. My children relate the story with pleasure of me just looking at him and saying "Oh Sparrow". Now doesn't that make you laugh?

As it is, India is more towards the east and then I stay on the east coast of India so the sun sets pretty quick. Winters are really bad as the daylight goes off by 5pm on most evenings and as it is I find winter so depressing and without the sunlight, its worse really. Summer is better, we have daylight say till 6/6:30pm but now that we are approaching summer solstice, the days are becoming just so longer. Its really wonderful you know to be walking back home from office in the daylight…it feels as if I am home early!

My country is in the tropical zone. So we only have two seasons here, summer and rainy season. During summer, it starts to get dark later than usual at around 6:30 or 7pm. But during rainy seasons and during the BER months, it starts to get dark at around 5:30pm or 6pm. That is why I prefer summer months because I don't like commuting when it gets dark already.

Here in India, summer longer day and it starts to get dark around 7.30pm. Those rainy days are different though! I think I've studied before that 6 months has longer day light and the other 6 month with longer night! I'm not sure due to the Global Warming if that has changed?!

Our climate has changed dramatically too with global warming but the times of darkness have remained the same.
