Everyday you here of women choosing to have a baby in their late forties and beyond. Do you think they are to old? Is it fair to the child? or If they give the child love, etc.. age of mother doesn't matter. Some of these women already have grown or almost grown kids? Do you think they should be starting over again?

I know that some ladies are concentrating on their education, their career, making a home and so get married in their thirties or early forties. The biological clock ticks away so I think if such a lady wants a baby she should try to get pregnant as soon as possible. Between 35 and 40 is late, between 41 and 45 is really late and after 46 medical help would probably be needed. A lady might have a 20 year old and an 18 years old but be divorced. If she marries again at age 45 she might try to get pregnant with medical assistance. They can give the baby love but not much energy if the child is active. Having a baby after age 50 the mother would be over 70 when the child is grown up. I was asked what I thought about a 66 year old and I thought it was unfair on the baby.

Hello Maximax8 - I feel the same way. The older or if they wait until their in fifties, etc.. I just think it becomes unfair. The child will probably be teased, etc.

I think in this day and age, with people living longer and healthier lives, women should have the option to have a child in their forties. Men have always had his option, and no one ever condemned them for it. Anyway, it really is not our business if another person chooses to have a child later in life.

Hi DeenaD - true it really isn't our business. Everyday women are having babies later in life - successfully.

My auntie gave birth to her youngest daughter when she was 45, I think this is because it is risky to give birth during that age, some says if you have high blood pressure it is dangerous. Doctors advice not to get pregnant at that age, they are only concern on the safety of the mother. That is why there are sayings like this "I should get pregnant before i turn 45".

Hi grecychunny26 - It sounds like your auntie had a successful delivery. That is great. Yes, for some women it seems to cause high risk pregnancy. Yet, women are having babies and many are having happy ever after stories.

Well, I won't judge them, but I personally won't do it. Pregnancy is very tiring, and so is taking care of baby. You really have to have a good stamina, or you will feel so depressed. I opt to have child until I was 29 or 30 then I'll be only focusing on raising them.
