I've tried, it didn't work. I started to feel my thinking ability becoming slower and slower, a simple math problem would take ages to solve. It is a very beautiful idea, but it's not good for the mind.

I think you should be careful telling people that-Just because you felt it did that to you, doesn't mean others will suffer the same. In fact most people claim that they have more energy and aren't as lethargic and tired as what they were when they ate meat. This in turn would mean better concentration. Perhaps you weren't supplementing your iron and protein intake enough and that was the problem.

I think people should be aware that meat is important in one's diet. The lack of it can cause serious damage. I agree that most people eat much more meat than ourt body needs, and can be considered murder. But the truth is, we need it, several studies have been made that prove that our brain needs meat to fully develop itself.

I am just wondering what studies said that you NEED meat. It was probably a company that sells meat because I definitely do not feel any slower since giving up meat. That idea is ridiculous. You can feel slow and sluggish if you don't eat carbohydrates as well. Everyone needs to keep their blood sugar at a steady level with no highs and lows. If you do that then you feel healthier. Eating meat has nothing to do with it.

First of, going veg is not as hard as people think. I've been doing it for years, I don't even miss meat at all at this point. If you decide to do it, I'd be more than happy to help you jump in. There are recipes, information, sites, GREAT foods that you'll love eating, and it's healthier as well. I think being a vegetarian is a wonderful choice, and it's definitely worth it.

I agree with you totally. I gave up meat almost two years ago and I really do not miss it. Everyone around me thinks I'm nuts, but only I know what is right for me. If I decide to go back to eating meat it will be my decision and not because someone else thinks I should. There are TONS of recipes out there for meat free meals, you are right. I have some on my new blog if you would like to check it out. Go to my profile and you will see the link for Veg on the Web.

A very good decision.A balanced vegetarian diet is ideal for all ages. They dont increase your cholesterol. They dont put on enormous weight.I have read in some books that our teeth are in such a way they are meant for eating vegetarain foods. We dont have sharp teeth like carnivores. Also the length of our alimentary canal suggests that vegetarian food is good for us.

There are so many benefits to going vegetarian. For a start you'll be a lot healthier, feel a lot better within yourself and reduce your risk of contracting certain cancers and diseases. You will be eating more vegetables which never hurt anyone You will also no longer be contributing to the barbaric animal cruelty that happens to animals that are intensively farmed. Meat production takes a big toll on the environment too, so you'll be doing your bit for the environment. Meat is expensive, tofu and vegies are relatively cheap, so you'll be saving your hard earned cash! Like people have said above, there are lots of yummy alternatives to meat and vegetarianism is gaining popularity so there are no shortages of cookbooks and vegetarian recipes around. Have fun and here are some sites for you to read up on http://www.ivu.org/ http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/nutshell.htm http://www.animalliberation.org.au/vego.php

I have been meatless for almost two years. At first I gave up meat thinking that it would help me to lose weight (it didn't- I eat too many carbs) but then I realized that the real reason was because I don't think that we have the right to take another life just to fill our bellies. There are so many other food choices out there, that there is not reason to eat meat. That is just my feelings though, I would never force my opinion on anyone. I do not like to be pushy, so please don't feel that I am telling you what to do. Only you know what is right for yourself. Give it a try, if it is not for you, you will know soon enough. But it can't hurt to give it a go.
