No. While I used to be kind of careless about it, I've started creating unique usernames for each website that I join. Cyber-stalkers are very, very real -- it could be an old lover, a business competitor, an ex-partner, a disgruntled customer, or anybody, really.
If you use the same username online, it's so very easy to track you -- especially if you post public comments like these. Today, even everyday people have access to 'deep web' searches, that can go through and find information about you that isn't available through search engines. For a few bucks, people can hire an online investigator and dig up dirt on you that you don't want anybody to know about... Creating a unique username doesn't even imply anonymity, but it does give you reasonable protection against the unsavvy internet user who is trying to check up on you.
You can never be too careful.

I don't use the same nickname in all the forums. I like to keep those that are personal and businesses separate, so that I could right away know which message is coming for which activity.

So separate username for personal accounts and another username for all the business accounts. Nice and yes it helps us know from where exactly the emails are coming. How about having separate email ID's too, it would be a better idea and makes the management of emails even more easier. What do you think?

Nice to hear your opinion. I basically try to create different names at least for the forums where we discuss. I think this way we get more freedom to develop the personalty of the avatar one is creating for that nick in the forum. It actually makes us bit more confidential about ourselves. I mean, you wouldn't want to actually let other members see your nick in other forums and know where all you post things. And once again thanks for letting us know your thoughts.

I do that too. However, I have decided to change my nickname because this one has become very boring. Cheers!!
