Who does the dishes at your house?

I have always done the dishes at my house. There are four people living in my house and I do the dishes. We had a dishwasher but it broke. Don't you just hate when things brake? I used to complain and hate doing the dishes but now it is really aggravating. It wouldn't bother me as much if we didn't go through all the dishes we go through. Sometimes I have to do dishes multiple times throughout the day. Other days aren't as bad. At times I really don't mind doing the dishes but at other times I really don't feel like washing any at all. I hate letting the dishes go because I know they will just pile up and it will cause even more dishes for me to do. At first I hated doing the dishes by hand but now I have gotten used to it. It still aggravates me at times though.

Hi o2bnocn long time no see!
We are not blessed with a dishwasher but it is not too big a deal! I wash the dishes in the morning which include all our pet bowls and breakfast plates. In the evening my husband likes to do them which suits me just fine!
I don’t like seeing dirty dishes pile up either, it’s funny even the simplest meal can produce so many dishes! What I dislike more than dishes is a dirty kitchen after cooking!

Long time no see is right!!! I started to take college courses so I have been really busy lately. Right now I am out for summer break.
I hate seeing the dishes pile up in the sink as well. It's always happening in my house though. I don't like a dirty kitchen after cooking either, but it seems like it always happens as well. I try to keep up with the dishes, but sometimes they win! I agree that one meal can create A LOT of dishes.
Good to see you!

In my household there is only two of us, me and my husband. We both share chores, as well as we have a dishwasher, so basically who ever gets to putting the dishes in the washer does it. LoL. We generally try to be even. So like I load the dishwasher, he will unload it or we will make it a team effort and do it together, which is really nice too! We would both probably die if our dishwasher broke. We both don't mind doing dishes, just it's SOO much more convienant to use the dishwasher!

We don't have a dishwasher at home so we wash our dishes manually. My youngest and I always wash our dishes. I'm assigned to wash our plates in the morning and in noon. My sister was assigned to wash the dishes in the evening. My mother wash the dishes when we are not at home. We don't let our father to wash our dishes because he don't wash the dishes properly.

That is really nice that both of you share chores. A lot of men don't want to do any chores at all. I think it is really nice and a good way to do the chores around the house. I know if a chore is on only one person it gets to be a lot, for instance sometimes I have to do A LOT of dishes. When our dishwasher broke, I hated it. Now I am more used to it and it would be nice to have the dishwasher back, especially at certain times. It would be so nice to load the dishes in the dishwasher when there are a tons of dishes. Although for the most part I actually don't mind washing the dishes by hand like I thought I would.

aww that's cute that your 6 year old son will do them. I would be afraid that my sister who is 8 would not get them clean. My other sister will do them rarely. Whenever she does it is a big help and less dishes for me to do. I am the one who does them 98 percent of the time though.

that's nice that both of you kind of share the chores. I think it is always nice when a family shares the chores and it is not put entirely on one person, or the majority is put on one person. I also know when you do something over and over again you get sick of doing it. So it is nice to take turns as well.

We do not have a dishwasher in the house. we do the dish washing the old school.
It is so emotional stress and emotional discomfort who would do the dishes. but for us, we are 5 in the family. we do this quite effectively.
since we are five and we get together every night after dinner. we simply task someone to do the dishes. there are five weekdays and two days on weekend. from monday to friday the concern party member will be from the eldest to the youngest respectively.
and since my mother do the cooking. she and my dad would agree on weekends.
simple as that. stressful?... no.. it is effective :)

We have a dishwasher so I am the one who loads it each day. Because there are only two of us here now, the dishwasher only needs to run once a week with a full load. Before we moved to this house we lived in an apartment that did not have a dishwasher. It was time consuming to wash the dishes and baby bottles but was part of my daily routine.

I do the dishes at my house, I live alone so there is not really that much to do. That is unless of course I let them pile up over time, which I have been known to do before I have considered getting a dishwasher but it seems like a lot of waste for just a few cups and plates. I may just switch to paper plates and plastic forks, that would save me washing up

Yeah I wouldn't mind doing dishes for one or two people. When you have four or five or more people and you are the only one that does the dishes, it is a lot of dishes for one person to do. I get so sick of doing them sometimes. I bought some paper plates and it is helping, not as much as I would like it to but it is helping. I am going to try and give my sister and I lunch on paper plates during the summer. I also want to try not to cook a whole during the summer, I don't want to heat up the house.

As I live alone I'm the only one to do the dishes: there's no dishwasher here either. I do soak my dishes for a few to dislodge the crud so I am not standing scrubbing for minutes at a time. That does cut down on dish washing time. When I cook or prep food, I have a soapy sink waiting for soaking of dirty dishes, and in they go. When it is time for clean up, a quick wipe, rinse, then stack in the drying rack means end of dish story. As I've a pain condition, I can't stand long anyway.

We are five in our house my dad, my mom and my sisters. Some people think that since my dad is the only man in the house, our rooms are tidy. But it is not. It is quite a mess because my sister loves collecting a lot of different things. We do the chores by ourselves. My sister is in charge of cleaning all the water bottles at night as well as the cleaning on the kitchen. My other sister is in charge of sweeping and wiping the floor and I am in charge of cleaning the dishes. Since I was in grade school I really love the chore that I am in charged of. I love the smell of the dishwashing liquid as well as the feeling of the running water whenever I'm rinsing. We don't have a dishwasher, and I'm glad we don't.

Well it's good that you enjoy doing the dishes. At times I feel like doing the dishes. I have to do them so often and so many times that I really get sick of washing all those dishes at times. We never eat out so we are always using dishes. I bought some paper plates and hopefully that will help out a little bit. I kind of miss the dishwasher at times but I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. I really don't mind to wash dishes when I am in the mood, which is occasionally. I do get really sick of washing them all the time though. I wash them and within an hour the sink has dishes again. It's almost impossible to keep up with the dishes.

Before I use to wash the dishes but now my cousin does it because I always arrive home late. We don't have dish washer in the house so someone needs to do it and it is very tiring task especially there are many people in the family.

Yes when there are a lot of people in the family, you go through more dishes than you would think. I bought some paper plates to try and help out with the dishes over the summer. There still seems to be quite a few dishes though. At least the paper plates will help some though.

Sometimes, I wash the dishes. Most often, my mother washes the dishes. i hate washing many dishes especially things like frying fan.
We don't have the money to pay for a dishwasher. Besides, it's a very easy task.

Well when my relatives are home, I sort of let them do the dishes unless they don't touch it or if im really bored, then i clean the dishes... When i'm really lazy to do the dishes and when there is no one home but me i just put them in the dishwasher...

When I moved from my house to my apartment, I had to begin doing dishes by hand again. I do most of them, but J sometimes does them. I don't mind doing them by hand, as it helps the stiffness in my hands and fingers.

I devide it to my 2 daughters the washing of the dishes.
Sometimes if they are so busy with their assignments I
would do it myself. I am enjoying washing it than doing
other things. But still I have to guide them because they
did not careful in doing the cleaning. Others will broke
up soi I must check their work too.
