Too many stars??

I really find this hard to believe. I Belgian girl claims she asked to have 3 stars tattooed on her face, but she fell asleep and ended up with 56 stars. WHAT??? She fell asleep while being tattooed on her face? Unless she was totally drunk or drugged up, I really do not see how this could happen. Maybe things are different in other places, but around here, if you're not straight when you go to get yours, they won't do it. I have 2 tattoos, am getting ready for my 3rd, and there's no way I could have fallen asleep while they were doing them. And on the face? C'mon, that's a pretty sensitive area to start with... Have any of you fallen asleep while getting a tattoo? Do you think it's possible? Check it out and see what you thing about it - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31400926/

It does seem very unlikely that anyone could sleep through that! I think maybe she hadn't thought about her parents' reaction, and had to think of an excuse quickly. I think that the idea might have seemed good, but the result was a bit more than she had expected!

Unfortunately, getting a tattoo is hard to undo. You can do it, but it's expensive and painful. You gotta make sure it's what you want - or just get a henna one to try it out.

The place where I've gotten both of my tattos does not do any work above the neck. I think the face it a bit too much too. Although plenty of people think anywhere is too much...

First of all I do not have tattoos, but I know plenty of people that do. I do not believe the girl could "fall asleep" while being tattooed. If she was drunk, she passed out and I don't believe the guy would have done it then either. I think as he said she agreed to have them on her. Look at the guy, he has them all over. All on his face and all. She being a teen probably got enthralled at the sight of all of the tattoes he had and thought at that time it was so "far out" or whatever the teens say these days. Then she got home and her parents freaked out and to cover up for what she had done, she lied to her parents. It is not the first time that has happened and it won't be the last time either. I have heard of girls going to bed with a guy then telling her parents she was raped, so she would not be in trouble herself. Compared to that huge lie this one is smaller.

That's what I think too. I've got 2 tattoos, getting ready for #3 and trying to figure out where to put #4... There's no way I could fall asleep, but someone here already said they have, but it wasn't on the face.

I know I read all of the posts. My daughter got one on her lower back, down way low. It was a rather large one and she said that she wished she had not gotten one there that is hurt so bad. That area is tender and I figure the face is as tender if not more so. I want one on my back but, I can not get it as it would cost more than I could pay for one. The reason it would cost a lot is that it would cover my whole back from top to bottom. I also want one on the back of my neck. But I have not went to get this done either because it's very rare that I spend money on me for something that is not really needed. Also they always have you sign a consent form before they do a tat. And they discuss exactly what is wanted by the customer. I know my face is sensitive. I do believe that I would not be able to sleep if having three done there much less as many as she did.

Hi my friend it's been to long. I think she needed star freckles just for falling asleep. They say getting tattoos increases your endorphins so maybe when she has an endorphin rush she goes to sleep.

AWWW!!! Look at that little cutie-pie!!! I didn't even recognize you!! And yes, it has been too long. I think I owe you an e-mail... From quite a while ago... I'm kinda looking into it still because I don't have a "real" answer. But, yeah, this story is a bit too crazy for comfort! I just know I wont be falling asleep in 2 weeks...

Well that does seem strange to me,to have a tattoo on your face in the first place seems a painful thing.Seems a bit suspect how can 3 turn into 56 and to fall asleep while they do it.I have not got any tattoos, but my friend told me it was really painful.I might suggest the girl may have issues with mental health and the person that did it should be struck off the register and shut down.

Nah, I think she was trying to be "cool" and her parents got mad. Around here, you have to be 18, so if it's the same there then she was just of age and most likely did not think it through. My son got his as soon as he turned 18, and although it was something he drew and had wanted for a long time I told him to make sure that's what he wants because it's permanant.

Teenagers are a pain at times, those poor parents it is eighteen in England as well.I suppose they will have to pay for laser treatment to get them removed, talk about rebelling I would have been so cross if she had been one of mine.My teenagers got a bit mouthy but thats all, nothing like that, she will regret this ,I cannot help feeling a bit sorry for her now.

She must have had too many drinks before that, or something stronger.

I think the young lady got what she asked for then when Dad saw her she concocted a story and that was the best she could do. No way she fell asleep.

I saw the original article a few days back. Then i saw one that said she admited to lying about it because if her fathers reaction to the tattoos on her face. A friend and i were talking about this and she figured it was all a lie that the kid asked for the tattoos because its painful to get them and how could one sleep through that. I've never had a tattoo but i figured it was kind of out there.

I hadn't really followed it since I first saw the original article. I figured she was making it up though. They're painful and I doubt I could fall asleep - and I have a pretty high pain threshold...

Hey reiny~ I had seen this story on the news and just really had a problem believing that this girl "just fell asleep"! She must have had plenty to drink in order to have passed out and only awakened after most of the tatoos were already done! So I hardly believe that she was innocent! As you said, here in the USA they will not even start doing a tatoo if you are intoxicated to the point where you aren't alert enough to know what you are having done! They have to be careful of the laws for their own sake! I don't know how she is going to get rid of those stars now, but she is going to go through plenty of pain to have them taken off! It isn't that simple and being that they are on her face it is really going to hurt!

I do not have tattoos but i heard it hurts a bit and it's a serious decision, i would doubt anyone would tattoo someone who would be drunk or somewhat in a bad condition, i don't believe it.

There are places that will do anyone just to make some money. But I think most of the reputable places have morals and wouldn't do something like that.

It is extremely unlikely to fall asleep while getting a tattoo. I myself haven't gotten any tattoos but I went with friends when they got theirs and not only does it hurt too much to fall asleep while getting them, most people also get very nervous while getting their tattoo so falling asleep is really impossible. It's also especially unlikely to fall asleep while getting a tattoo on the face - that's a very sensitive area. To be honest, I believe the tattoo artist - the girl probably asked for 56 stars (although that's absolutely sick! 56 stars on the face? That's probably one of the most disgusting things I can imagine on a girl) and when her father saw it she complained. I'd know, because my father would probably throw me out of the window if I came home with 56 stars tattooed on the face (if he could even recognize me).

I totally agree with you, although one has already stated that she has fallen asleep while getting a tattoo. If the artist is good then they can relax you, but for me, there's no way I think I could fall asleep while getting one done.
