When President Obama swatted a housefly on National TV, he created a minor sensation.

I can't find much empathy for that housefly swatted by our Commander n' Chief! House flies, or blow flies as they are commonly known, are disease carriers and known for being attracted to dining most fowl. For all we know, said blow fly could have been just scoping the post digested matter of the first dog Bo. Bo is an adorable dog. However, some businesses of dog ownership should not come into the house!
*
There are even less desirable businesses outside that the first family does not want coming in on flit wings. Those less desirable things usually are housed in rubbish bins, the luxury condos of the blow fly world.
*
In neighborhoods less kept up (such as crack houses) than 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., said flies share their neighborhoods with mice, rats, stray cats, dogs, plus things we'd rather not consider.
*
I have swatted more bugs, particularly mosquitoes and flies, than can fill a gallon jug.

I don't really understand the big deal, its a fly. I think that PETA is making way to big of a deal about it. For all the positive things that they do to protect animals, I think there might be, just a slim chance, that they are making a big deal out of nothing. I would hate to think about what they would say if they say the fly strips I have in my house or the bug zapper I keep outside.

The fact that PETA is after publicity, any kind of publicity, has something to do with it. If they have to call the "anti cruelty brigade" on a fly, that gets eyeballs pointed in their direction, thus making them happy as clams in a beach! Uh oh, that was clam discrimination!

California badly needs a desalination plant, and either the state or the Federal government needs to cough up the money for it. The snow pack is going bye bye, which is where California gets most of its water, regardless of what we do with our car exhaust!

I for one don't see humans as a big contributer to green house gas. I think that nature has a bigger role to play there. We need to do a whole lot of adaptation. Volcanism is the larger contributor, we havent found all the sources of the volcanism on this active planet.

Ah, much ado about nothing in my opinion. But I would like to know how that fly got past security. It could have been a spy fly. Or a killer fly. A terroist fly even.

Hello CraftyCorner. I watched the short video of President Obama swatting the disturbing fly that affected him while being interviewed. It is funny to have this fly appear at this occasion while being interviewed. I am sure that Obama must have been very annoyed by it that he had to do so. lol

I've had a fly go in my mouth once. That is the most absolutely DISGUSTING thing that can happen to a human being that can happen considering where that fly probably had spent some time...
