Is reading newspaper important ?

according to me reading newspapers is very important because as u said definitely its the basic source of information,news and whatever it may be and let me tell you one more thing in most of the countries where english is not the native language people can get hold of the language which is very important.now though many sources came later like tv,net i dont think they could replace the newspapers because its th eonly source available at such a less cost to the common man. happy mylotting......

I think reading the newspaper is important, and I think that it is sometimes more accurate than other forms of media. My reasoning is as follows. Statements made on TV, Radio, and things posted on the internet all seem to have a way of disappearing. If a statement is published in a newspaper, however, there is written record of it accessible by everyone! The media has become more and more opinionated and is not always driven by the facts. Anything that makes it a little more accurate in my book is a good idea. I love newspapers!

i guess not so much these days.especially since we have internet to get our daily dose of current events from. and to think they're always updated. now i don't read newspaper that much. i just browse through online papers. and then i check my email and do other online stuff.i've been used to that for the past three or so years.

It is definitely important that you read the newspapers every day. It makes you informed of what is happening in our country as well as the news around the globe. While other would watch news on television, search the internet, listen over the radio, a lot of people would still prefer reading the newspapers.

I do not read the newspaper anymore. I read the news on the internet. I also see it ont he big screen TV's at the gym plus my husband tells me about news he read online. Plus I hate all the ink you get on your fingers after you handle it. One day actual newspapers may be a thing of the past.

Since I am on the computer most of the day, I read all of my news from either yahoo or aol. I think you need to keep up with major events. However, the news can be so depressing sometimes.

hi suj123, every time you are correct, new paper is first thing to know all about the world, you cannot search what happened in the world, but news paper will reveal every thing, i read Eenadu Telugu daily, the day starts to me with the above mentioned paper only

reading news papers is as important as checking the internet for any information, there are lots of happenings reported on the newspapers which may not be found anywhere even on the internet and it is bad that a lot of people have forgotten their reading culture for the internet

yeah reading newspapers is a healthy habbit, it is the first thing in the morning and is refreshing to read one and start the day, but these days ppl are using digital media more than newspapers, but still newspapers make a good way to start the day and have ready news available to us... one of the most best things i like about the newspapers is that you have the local news column in it and you can quickly go through it and this is where the tv news falls short, the tv news carries the top stories all around the world but will not tell you the local news that might concern you!

As far as i 'm concerned, reading newspaper is very important for me. Only when i read the stuff, via a print medium (newspaper, magazine, novel, anything), i feel intrest n satisfaction too. All the online stuff is just so unreliable too, anyone can write anything , anywhere...

According to me reading newspaper is not that much important. In a hectic schedule, i really dont find time to read newspaper. Instead of spending time in reading, we could just listen to headline news in radio or TV. Anyways i like to read newspaper, i accept it has many advantages. Reading newspaper not only keeps us updated of the happennings across the world but also improves our vocobulary. But due to lack of time, reading newspaper doesnot come top on my priority list.

It is for me. I ca't do without newspaper. They are like habit for me. We read 3 newspapers each day at home. I read after I return home from office.

My days used to be incomplete if i don't read the newspaper cover to cover. However, with motherhood and a job, i seldom get to read it anymore so i settle for the internet and tv. I think it is important to read the newspaper to keep oneself on top of what is happening around us. It's a sign of being concerned and vigilant. I may be one of the silent majority but it doesn't mean that i will be just silent and not do anything if ever something would threaten my freedom, life and livelihood. Knowing what is happening around me is my way of keeping watch.

Yes I think it's important but sometimes its a lot easier to be lazy and just watch the evening news. While I agree that the evening news isn't as facts-based as it should be, as long as you don't by the emotional or psuedo-moral crap they offer I think it's alright.

I don't say reading newspaper is important, I will say get in touch with the news happening worldwide is important. In this new centrury there are lots of other ways to update you with latest news. I watch news channels every evening. I also read newspaper online, but not in hand. I think that will do. But, I like to have a newspaper in hand and read it whenever I have time, especially on weekeneds.

its really good to read newspaper...it not only enriches your knowledge with loads of information...it also improves your vocabulary...it increases your english knowledge...we can learn more words by just going through the newspaper... also by collecting tonnes of newspaper we can earn money through it..hehe
