Few months ago, I become interested in recycling. Because during those time, my online business has been ended due to the internet disconnection in our house. And I'm really desperate to earn money. And when I saw a pile of old newspapers in our room, that's when recycling entered in my mind.
But my venture in recycling only lasted for about 2 weeks and I just earn 35 pesos. It is because I only collect plastic bottles and sell it in a junk shop and it only costs 7 pesos per kilo. But during those two weeks, I can remember how hard it is for me to pick up plastic bottles in front of my fellow students. And that's when the time that I realize that it is really hard to earn money.

What we do at home is that we separate the plastic bottles from our daily trash. I know that I wanted to do more, but it seems I am not really up to it, and that is something I am not proud of. After reading your post, I became conscious of what I have been doing and am thinking of better contributing to this country by following the policy on segregation of waste.

yes i do recycle here, bottles, plastics, cans and newspapers. the highest i earned from recycling was more than 200 pesos.
it is good to recycle because we not only earn from those things that we are going to throw away but also it helps the environment too.
that 35 pesos you earned from recycling may not be much but at least you earned from recycling. it is really hard to earn money.

I recycle newspapers and I'm pretty bad. I really only do it as an excuse to go to the recycling center to dig through the newspapers for coupons. I get a thrill from collecting coupons. Its really crazy but I have fun and save alot of money.

Our city asked us to recycle paper and plastic. We use a separate container provided by the city. On garbage day, both the regular trash and the recycle are taken.

I recycle as much as I can. We have a paper bank opposite our house and fortnightly collections of tins, glass, plastic and compostable cardboard/food/garden waste. I take unwanted goods to the charity shop and purchase books/videos there which I pass on to my mum to read/watch & she then donates them back to the charity shop. Used postage stamps are passed on to a charity and padded envelopes are re-used.

Hello allenbucks. Yes we do recycled waste materials that's one of our ways to help our Mother earth. Most of the waste materials we keep on recycling are newspapers, plastic bags and plastic bottles. Well it's been one of my hobbies to make baskets and flower vases from old newspapers. I learned that from one of our family friends. I painted them in varnish and put some decorations. They came up to be a lovely products. Sometimes I gave them to my relatives and friends as a gift and sometimes I can manage to sell them and also I've been able to sell some of them in one of our school exhibit. What about those plastic bags and bottles? Well we have a bottle vendor/collector friend, we always gave him those bottles and plastic bags that's our way to help him earn more. He sell those things in junk shops that's an addition to his usual earnings. Happy recycling and Happy mylotting.

We also started just a month ago for recycling some waste. Actually as a start, we separate the waste bin for plastics and non plastics but the biodegradable like food leftover or fruits and vegetable peeling directly goes in one waste bin. Somehow it helps because our waste bin is not bulky to throw out anytime.

It is indeed hard work to gather a lot of plastic cans and bottles... i save mine for my two niece because they usually sell them at the junk shop... and the money goes to their savings... i know a shoe repairman who has a shop near a pub... and he gets all the cans and bottles for that particular pub and sell them after a week... he gets a lot of money because that place has ton that they just give him...

I have been interested in recycling. Mostly newspapers though. We used to subscribe to them(meaning we ask a vendor to always come by the house.LOL) AFter reading my Dad transfers the newspaper to his office. He usually just needs the Business section and the front page. All the rest of the sections I can dispatch to my hearts content. So what I do with them, is of course read them.LOL AFter that though i put them in one corner of my room and after a while the pages just pile up. Then I would sell them at a local junk shop as well.
Sure it might just bring in some pesos but those pesos can already be my savings for a week.^_^
I have never tried collecting plastic bottles though. But I have collected those opener tabs in cans. I donate them to an institution who recycles them to make them into a wheelchair.
I kinda stopped with the recycling for extra cash. Nowadays, I would recycle my old high school notebooks and even those elementary ones. I get the clean pages, compile and sort them then I bind them into a notebook. Ive been doing that for 4 years now. And since entering college, I use those as my notebooks. I only buy new ones when the professors requires us to use a uniform notebook.^_^
