Is your book shelf completely full up with books you can't throw out? Is there any space left for new books? What sort of books do you have on your book shelf?
My book case is full and I have a box of extra books that I can't fit in it. I don't have space for any new books but I do find myself purchasing some from time to time. I have novels and travel books on my book case mostly.

We have 2 bookshelves overflowing with books. We also have a hallway cupboard shelf that is full of books. The sort of books that are there are a wide variety of everything.
From trashy novels, travel books, health, gardening, food, wealth creation, stock market spiritual and personal development books, we have a lot of areas covered...lol
Our bedside tables are a tower of books, these are sometimes big piles from the library as well.
My 9 year old daughter has also turned out to be a book worm and has a shelf overflowing with books, she has read the Harry Potter series at least 5 times! They are her favourite.
Oh, we also have a couple of hundred health food books in our garage on shelves as we sell them through our business!!!

Hello maximax. I have a lot of books and I put them not only on the bookshelves, but also in my desk drawers and on the desk in my study. I am trying not to buy so many books these years because most of the books I read, I read once and seldom read it again and again. It is a waste of money though. Now I usually buy some books related to my teaching that I can often use.

Hi williamjisir. I meet the same situation with you.
I usually make a plan to buy books in recent yearas. I will buy new books after three or four months, in which period I will try to read all the books I've bought in the last time and I will limit the numbers of book when it is time to buy new ones. The way of buying books do help me to use the book I bought effectively and to save money.
Enjoy your reading.

My book shelf is very full. I have almost no space what I really need is to buy more book shelves but I have no money or in truth a place to put them. When I move into my new apartment I am going to really spend money on getting a nice set of book shelves.I think a entire wall will be nothing but book shelves. Then another wall will house all my activist paraphernalia.Thats the lay out of my new apartment if I ever get it.Right now I have no space to add any new book shelves all though I need some rather desperately.

Not only the shelves, there are cartons of book under my cot too maxima. Five years ago I relocated to Mumbai from Tamil Nadu and our transfer luggage consisted mainly of books much to the frustration of the people who transported our cartons .THree months ago, we shifted residence and luckily this new house also has plenty of book shelves. Many of them are occupied by my son's books . He is a voracious reader and has a huge collection of P.G.Wodehouse, Alistair Maclean, Agatha Christie, and many more .In fact he has all his childhood books intact.THese range from COmics, Noddy to Hardy Boys and Enid Blyton.I read some of his . As for my exclusive collection I have the choicest collection of romance novels in English, my college text books, certain good advanced English books and a huge number of Grammar books.Apart from these English books, there are many historical novels and other light fiction , humour and wit and thought provoking books in my mother tongue too.

Hello maximax8!
My bookshelves are really FULL! I even have given away some of my other books and yet, I still have much. I even have kept other books that I already have read or not using anymore in boxes. I have not really purchased new books except those that I use in school for my work. Instead of buying novels, I have been spending on audio books and e-books.

All my books have been handed down to my kids or grandkids. Those that remained were donated to the Salvos. They were too heavy to transport around.

I have problem with the bookshelves. They are never enough for the books I buy or receive from time to time. Among my collection, there are bestseller novels, english teaching books, biographies, self helpers, health and food books, etc. On occasion of removal, I had to give up some or put in boxes to be laid aside. After my successful eye operation, my confidence is back with me to go over the earlier bought best sellers which have laid there without read. But after reading or glancing over, I have to dispose quite some of them. It is always a hard decision.

I am making a library in one of my rooms in my house. I have shelves for all my books because my husband is building them into the wall for me. I love Heart song books witch are Christian love story novels. And I like all books n castles, kings, queens and Native American Indians. My book shelves aren't full yet but I am sure they will be soon enough.

Hi maximax8...We have an abundance of books in our house too. I've recently been going through them and putting aside some to sell. I've listed a couple in great condition on amazon and I've donated some to a local thrift store. I know it's difficult to part with books sometimes but the other option is to get a bigger place to live!

Book shelves??? I have six and they are all full with books stacked on top of the regular rows. I have two drawers full of books I use when I am doing research. Of course, this does not include the stacks I have elsewhere in the house. Soon I will be overrun with books, but I can't stand to get rid of any. I have fiction and non-fiction books alike, history books, research (how-to) books, John Grisham books, Dee Henderson books, Karen Kingsbury books, and lots of Bibles and Counseling books. What happens if the books overrun the house?

book shelves in our case, and they're pretty full - some parts with double rows of books :)
Like you, even though space is a problem, I still keep buying more books every once in a while and then I am at a loss on where to put them LOL
Another thing happens: Each year when school starts I take a bunch of books from home, that I think I will like to keep in the classroom For the last 10 years or so, I have been in the same school, so many of them stay in class from year to year. But since this time I am not going back to the same school I brought them back home, just to realize I had already filled the vacant spaces with more books and now have no idea what I am going to do with them LOL

I have a big collection of books, but due to shortage of space I cant buy any more. may be around 400 books must be there in my collection.
apart from this i have a big collection of eBooks. may be around 2000 plus books on various topics. since ebooks doesn't need shelf space, i can have as many as i can. may be when i move to a new house we are planning to construct, i will make provisions for more books and have a separate room for reading.

I think I have a lot of book in my bookshelf just given some of them to one of my sister's friend as she wanted some of them to study.
Actually I don't have many different books of different authors on different topic but I have good books about different topics which were in my graduation period.
So I have some books which I have purchased during my college life and preserved them well.
Now she has taken some of those but hope she will return it after her college in a good condition..

Yeah,my bookshelf is just overflowing now. I have three shelves full of story books-novels,plays and dictionaries. The other two shelves are full of books pertaining to my university syllabus. I actually love to buy books, read them and then add them to my collection..I have been doing this since childhood and so now the number of books have overflown the space.I just can't resist the temptation to buy the latest best sellers although I'm at a loss as to where I should keep them ;) My collection includes Agatha Christies, sherlock holmes collection, all the classics that one can think of,the whole Nancy Drew series which I was obsessed with in chilhood and also the Famous Five series among Enid Blyton's other books,Sidney Sheldon,Paulo Coelho,Jhumpa Lahiri,Khaled Hosseini,Rowling,Slumdog Millionaire....the list is endless.I'm really crazy about books :)
