I'm off now for a whole week and I am loving the idea of it! I was unsure if I would be off and have been working 10 hours a day so I haven't planned an "away" vacation because it was up in the air if I would be working or not. I am looking forward to the big fireworks show..well..they do quite a few of them..but I think I'll stick with the one here in town. My daughter used to be very afraid of them but she likes watching now too. So what about you..do you like them or could you do without them?

We have big fireworks on Australia Day every January. It is very big and the local radio station provides the sound track that goes with it making it a very spectacular event. Everyone gathers on the river’s foreshore with their radios and halfway through the “Sky show” everybody is asked to wave a torch or their mobile phone creating a great atmosphere.
We used to go every year but the last couple of times we’ve watched it from a viewpoint near home to avoid the crowds.
It is a fantastic show but to be honest seen one I’ve seen them all!

yes i do like fireworks... but i'm not really obsessed to it... i mean, if i can watch it, then i will... but i won't sacrifice anything just for the sake of looking at fireworks... i think i only look at fireworks once a year and that is during new year... that's it... take care and have a nice day...

i like watching fire works display. its cool to see different kinds of colors flashing at the dark sky. here in our country we use a lot of fire works on almost all the ocasions. but sometimes some people no longer buy it for it is also expensive. when i was still single during new years eve me and my cousins always light a few to welcome new year. when i got married i stop using for my wife has ashtma so we rather watch it from a far. now that we have a son he also enjoys watching.

Well I used to like it when I was a kid and used to celebrate different festivals using fireworks.
But now I am not celebrating a lot but watching it sometimes as people like to celebrate using fireworks.
But thinking practically there should be some restrictions on it as they are spreading a lot of air and noise pollution.
I like to watch it sometimes..

Hi Jen!
All in our family like fire-works. We get to see fire-works here in our city on the occasion of marriages and on the occasion of one of our important festival, which is called 'Diwali' or 'Deepawali' (the festival's name is a Hindi word). People from all walks of life lit fireworks on the occasion of this festival to celebrate the same. Though it looks great to see fireworks opening in the sky, yet it causes lots and lots of air pollution due to release of gases. The festival comes once in a year during the month of either October or November.

Hi deepak! That sounds amazing that people use fireworks to celebrate a marriage! Did you have fireworks for yours? Does your festival translate in English? It sounds like a wonderful celebration. It's true there is pollution involved. I like them too. Thanks for responding!

I really don't remember, I'm thinking it was the 4th that year, I know I was once there for Labor Day, but this was the second time I'd been there for fireworks
And that time we were really pretty close, I think we were like right around the bend from where they were setting them off, a few landed on our side of the bend and we got up and got back to the car, we hadn't gone really far from the car because of my bad feet. I seem to remember they were putting one guy in a truck near where we were when we got outta there, and we got out pretty quick because we were amoung the first to get out of the lot.

Hi Jen! Yes, I like fireworks and enjoy watching the big ones at the shows, even if it can only be from a far off distance nowadays. My boys enjoy it too, so I make sure to buy some every year so we can have our own fireworks display right at home. My oldest son even helps me hose down the area afterward. Don't want to risk starting a fire, after all!

Good for you. As it is now 3 weeks later I guess I can ask you if it was as good as you thought it was going to be. I am taking a short holiday from July 19th to the 23th. I am flying to Las Vegas for 4 days and 3 nights. My adult daughter is going with me. It is so cheap right now that we couldn't resist it.
We were looking to fly to Winnipeg to see some family members but it was so much cheaper to fly to Vegas. And with the Vegas trip we get the hotel and shuttle service and the whole bit, for cheaper than just a flight to Winnipeg. So guess where we decided to go. Wouldn't you?
And then we were invited to go to Prince Edward Island for two weeks, at the end of August and beginning of September but that is going to cost a lot and also taking two weeks off of work, I'm self employed, would cost me a bundle in lost revenues, that I don't think I'll be going. Maybe I'll fly to Winnipeg for the weekend instead. Or maybe I'll just wait till Christmas to go home and see my brand new grandchild. He/she is due at the end of November and I am excited since it is my first grandchild.

Hope u enjoy your rime off. I HAVE NEVER CARED ALOT ABOUT FIREWORKS. When i was small i had a roman candle backfire in my hand therefore they wern't one of my faves.. Both my sons loved them & i bought them for them but stayed drawn up in a knot when they'd light them. I'm sure my grandchildrem will love them to.

Wow..no wonder you don't care for them! My daughter was really afraid of the noise for a while. She liked the lights but not the boom.
I am here to tell you I am looking so forward to a few days off! I have really been putting in the overtime! More to come to when I go back. They have me on 10 hour days from last week until September sometime. I was surprised about getting my week off! They had me thinking all the time I would be working. Talk to you later.

I like fireworks if I am at a display, but, on the other hand, if I am at home and trying to get the animals in or trying to relax after a long day then I don't really care for them. I usually take the kids to a park named Camel's Back and we climb to the top of the hill. You can see for three counties. It is lovely. My city is also the city of trees in french and you can see the treetops from this vantage point as well.

I love fireworks and I watch them every chance I get. My daughter, granddaughter,my husband and myself are going to a friends house to watch the fireworks go off for the 4th of July. They let fireworks off for about 45 minutes to an hour and they aren't small fireworks. I love the colors of them when they let them off. I think they are pretty cool.

Your welcome. And it is fun to have the family get together and see the fireworks together. We do this every year. Sometimes we go to my brothers and we buy fireworks and let them off together. Then after that we go else where and watch other people letting them off. Its fun.

I love fireworks and here in San Diego there are 3 different shows going on at the same time! It's so exciting what they're doing with them nowadays. So beautiful, too!
Have a great vacation and enjoy the fireworks!

Yeah, i do. We light up fireworks every year at home during the New Year's Eve. It's the tradition here since we don't have our Fourth of July celebration. We also had this fireworks contest on Mall of Asia, the third biggest mall in Asia i think. Entries came from all over the world and i think Australia won it. I'm not sure. The fireworks are controlled using a computer then they synch with the audio they chose for the fireworks display. Some would use the sea as a mirror effect. It's just amazing to see fireworks burst for every beat of Beethoven's.

I have always loved fireworks and enjoy going to firework shows and enjoy having them at home also. My kids are always amazed with the sparklers and it is so fun to watch their eyes light up when they get to have one. They go through box after box of the really big ones and it is never enough. The only part that I don't like is when I start to see the firework stands go up than I know that my birthday is soon to come and I am going to be another year older!! Other than that I enjoy everything about the 4th
